Underage gaming
By agreeing to our terms and conditions prior to registration, you confirm that you are over 18 and that online gambling is legal in your location. PKR is intended as an entertainment service for adults only and we may request paper proof of your identity in order to verify your age.
Password
Keeping your login details secure is your responsibility. Please, do not neglect it. Do not share your login information with anybody or leave it where it can be easily accessed by other people. It is very important that you guard your login details carefully, as we will not refund your funds if somebody gets into your account because of your negligence.
There are two situations when you may be asked by us for your password: when logging on and when confirming a deposit or withdrawal request. We will never ask you to send your password to us, and you should never send it to us or to anyone else.
Some advice on how to best protect your password
- Do not write down your password where somebody can find it.
- Chose a password that cannot be easily guessed. Do not select passwords such as your first name or your date of birth.
- If others can access your computer, particularly in offices or college dorms, do not use the "Remember Password" option in the login screen and do not leave your account logged on.
- Watch out for scams from people who may want access to your account.
Your username and avatar
You may make as many changes to your avatar as you like. Once you have registered your username with PKR you must use that name for the entire time you have an account with us.
Multiple accounts
PKR allows only one account per person per household. If you want more than one real money account from the same household, please contact customer services.
Written documentation for the second player’s account verification may be required.
Reducing
Leaving a cash table and attempting to re-join with fewer chips than you had when you left is called ‘reducing’ and it is not allowed. An automatic restriction will be placed on your account to prevent you from doing so. You may of course re-join at any time, provided that you bring in the same amount of chips as you had when you left the table.
Posting
When joining a table, players must pay a fee equivalent to the table’s lower limit stake. This is to prevent players from sitting at a table in late position to avoiding paying blind bets.
Missing blinds
If you miss your turn to post the small blind while you are sitting out from a table, you will be required to post an amount equal to the big blind when you sit back. This will be an ‘active’ bet, which means you can raise after posting it, even if no other player raises it. If you miss your turn to post both blinds while you are sitting out from a table, you will be required to post an amount equal to the big blind when you sit back. This will be an ‘active’ bet, which means you can raise after posting it, even if no other player raises it. Additionally, you will have to contribute to the pot with a ‘non-active’ bet equal to the small blind.
Tied hands
For all games except Hi Lo
When two or more players hold equal ranking hands at a showdown, games will be decided by the high card (pair of Jacks beats pair of Nines). The next deciding factor will be the “kicker”, i.e. the higher value card not held in common. If ties are exact between two or more players, the pot will be split evenly and if there are extra odd chips, they will be allocated to the first winning player to the dealer’s left.
For Hi Lo games
When two or more players hold equal ranking hands at a showdown, games will be decided by the high card (for instance, a pair of Jacks beats a pair of Nines) or low card (for instance, a 2 card beats a 3 card). If either the Hi hands remain tied (for instance, two players hold the same pairs) or the Lo hands remain tied (for instance, two players hold a 3 card vs. a 3 card), the next deciding factor will be the “kicker”, i.e. the higher value card not held in common. If ties are exact between two or more players, the pot will be split evenly and if there are extra odd chips, they will be allocated to the first winning player to the dealer’s left.
Decision time limit
You are allowed 20 seconds of decision time for each action. If you fail to act during the allocated time your hand will be automatically folded and you will forfeit any amounts bet until that point in time.
Rake
PKR takes a small portion of each pot as compensation for hosting the games of the pot. For detailed information on our rake structure, please follow this link: PKR Rake Page.
Tournament Cancellation Policy
Even though it is extremely unlikely, a server crash can occur with any Internet application. In such an event, customers will have their PKR accounts automatically refunded with the amount of chips they had at the table, both in play and out of play. Any incomplete ring game hands as a result of a server crash will be voided.
If a tournament is cancelled during its progress, the prize pool is divided between remaining players by the following formula...
- Each player receives the prize payout due to be credited to the next player eliminated.
- Of the remainder of the prize pool, 50% is shared equally between all remaining players, and 50% is distributed proportionally according to the chip count of each player.
- The tournament fee is refunded to each active player.
The payout amount for a specific player can never exceed the maximum prize available in the cancelled tournament (less the amount of the fee). Any excess amounts per player to the maximum prize will be distributed equally between all other remaining active players.
In the event that a 'Double Chance' or 'Treble Chance' tournament is cancelled before all players have taken their additional free stacks, unclaimed chips are added to each player's final chip count and the total chip count figure used for calculating payouts.
In the event that a rebuy tournament with a guaranteed prize pool is cancelled during the rebuy period, payouts will be based on the total amount generated from buy-ins, and not the guaranteed amount.
Payouts for cancelled 'Terminator' tournaments are calculated by the formula...
- Each player is credited the value of all bounty prizes they have already claimed during the tournament.
- Each player receives the bounty value on their own head at the time of the tournament cancellation.
- If the tournament includes a standard prize pool, this portion of the prize pool is divided between the remaining active players using the standard cancellation policy as outlined above.
- The tournament fee is refunded to each active player.
Fair play
Neither collusion nor any other form of cheating will be tolerated at PKR. By collusion we mean the sharing of information between players in order to gain unfair advantage on other players. Artificial pot-building, soft-playing, use of poker bots or shared databases are all forms of cheating that we will actively monitor and take action against.
Violations of this policy will result in a permanent ban from PKR and funds in these accounts may be confiscated.
If you suspect foul play at one of our tables, you can help us to deal with the matter as quickly as possible. Just contact our customer services and provide us with a hand ID and a brief description of what you observed – we will check it against our monitoring tools and report back to you.
Buy-in limits and Betting Structure
Buy-in for Limit games...
Minimum buy-in: In order to join a table you must bring at least ten-times the higher stake value (for example, in a $2/$4 you must sit down with a minimum of $40). There is no maximum buy-in other than the amount of chips in your account.
Minimum re-buy: At least five-times the big blind.
Buy-in for Pot Limit and No Limit games...
Buy-in limits You must bring at least 20-times the big blind to the table. There is also a maximum buy-in of 100-times the big blind.
Re-buy rules The minimum re-buy is five-times the big blind. Also, you may not exceed the maximum buy-in/re-buy limit on the table. Because you can order more chips during a hand and those chips are delivered at the end of that hand, a win could put you over the re-buy limit. If that is the case, your re-buy amount will be adjusted to prevent you from going over the maximum limit and the excess will be returned to your account.
Betting structure
There are four possible betting rounds in PKR games. The first two rounds are at the table’s lower limit stake and the last two rounds are at the table’s higher limit stake.
Only one bet and three subsequent additional raises are allowed per betting round. These three additional raises are called raise, re-raise and cap. Once the cap is reached, players can only call or fold.
All-in protection
If you are disconnected during a hand when you have money in the pot, your investment may be protected by the ‘All-in Protection’ feature. Should this happen, you will be automatically considered all-in and be eligible to win the portion of the pot that existed at the time of the disconnection. The hand will be allowed to contest the showdown and any further betting between active players will go into a side-pot.
All-in protection is limited to two per day per player and is in place to protect players from genuine disconnections only. Deliberate misuse of the facility may result in the loss of all-in protection privileges or the forfeit of money won.
All-in protection is not available for tournament play.
Chat rules
Players cannot disclose the cards they folded until the hand is completed and it is strictly forbidden to encourage another player to play in a cooperative manner to the disadvantage of other players. Commenting on current hands or the style of any player on how a game is being played is called kibitzing and it is not allowed – not as a player or an observer.
It is strictly forbidden to intimidate or harass other players at a table. Use of profane or insulting language will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Recurrent violators of this rule risk having their chat privilege removed or even temporary or permanent account suspension.
Congratulating a winning player is always seen favourably.
Please try not to unnecessarily slow down game play and please be polite when notifying other players of their own lagging pace.
While we appreciate that PKR has a vast international player base we are an English language website and require that players use English only in the chatbox. This rule is in place to ensure there can be no suspicion of players discussing the game in progress in an unfair manner.
Failure to observe PKR's chat policy can result in players having their chat privileges removed.
Website, forum and My PKR status rules
Inappropriate use of the website comment feature, forum or My PKR status updates is forbidden. Players may not advertise, publicise personal information such as email addresses, post abuse or abusive language, or any other form of behaviour considered to be outside the spirit of usage of the feature. Failure to observe PKR's website, forum and status usage policy can result in players having their privileges for these features removed.
Self-exclusion
You may apply to our Licensor (The Alderney Gambling Commission) for temporary or permanent self-exclusion from all play. You may also contact us directly to request self-exclusion from our services.
If you request self-exclusion from our services to us, you will be denied access to our games for at least six months. After that time, you may request re-activation of your account.
Any funds remaining in your account at the point when you request self-exclusion will be repaid to you, provided there are no outstanding issues in your PKR account.
If you have previously requested self-exclusion from all play, you may apply to the Commission for revocation of this exclusion.
Involuntary exclusion
Under Section 81 of the Gambling (Interactive Gaming) (Alderney) Ordinance, 2001, the Alderney Gambling Commission may issue an order prohibiting specific persons from participating in interactive gaming in Alderney.
If such an order is issued against you, we will exclude you from our services and repay your account balance (if any). You will be barred from registering again with us, unless the exclusion order is revoked. Should this revocation take place, your account would be immediately reinstated.
