The second ever live PKR.com event took place at London’s trendy Loose Cannon poker club last weekend with 150 of the best online players travelling from far and wide to take part in PKR Live II. Billed as the friendliest poker event around, PKR Live II provided a fantastic weekend of fun, banter and top class poker that surpassed even the highest of expectations.

The camaraderie that sets the PKR.com community apart was evident from the outset, and left Loose Cannon manager Roy Houghton proclaiming, “I have been in the poker world for 40 years, and have yet to meet a friendlier crowd than the people who came to the Loose Cannon over the weekend.” But it was the quality of the poker that really pushed PKR Live II to new heights, providing further evidence of the high standard of poker player now attracted to the next generation site.

The $75,000 Main Event was always going to be the highlight of the weekend and after playing an almost faultless game it was 23-year-old Englishman, Karl ‘discomonkey’ Fenton whose pocket Q10 off-suit defeated the A9 of friend and long-time rival Simon Wing, making a pair of queens on the board.

An ecstatic Karl was delighted by his win and was quick to pay tribute to his opponents and friends, “It was definitely one of the best, most enjoyable and most successful weekends of my life, I can’t thank all of you guys enough for the cheers and the massive support I received throughout the whole weekend. It was an absolute honour.”

PKR Live II also marked the first outing of the newly formed Team PKR Pro, and the up and coming pro’s didn’t disappoint by recording four cashes across the three events. Standout performers were Andrew ‘golfpro699’ Teng who just missed out on a final table appearance in the main event when his aces were cracked and Ray ‘callmebabe’ O’Mahoney who won the Sunday night bounty event.

Photos from the event will soon be made available for all in the PKR.com gallery as well as the official PKR Live II video footage.
