18 August 2009 - It was a double celebration at PKR Headquarters yesterday as the next-gen online poker room marked both its third birthday and the registration of its 3,000,000th player.
PKR registered player # 3,000,000 on Sunday 16th August, a full 24 hours before celebrating the third anniversary of its launch for real money play on 17th August. Both milestones cap another year of strong growth that has seen over a million new players join PKR’s ranks, propelling the poker room ever upwards in the acclaimed industry monitoring service, PokerScout.com. On top of this strong growth, the past twelve months have also seen PKR pick up eGaming Review's ‘Hotshot Operator of the Year’ and Gambling Online Magazine's Best Software awards.
