But what about democracy and freedom of speech?
Are poker players now going to experience some sort of censorship?
Only the truth hurts… so if any player is moaning about something that is not the truth, why should PKR even concern about it.
Hi RaiseOne
I know you said that feedback wasn't necessary but
I "have to"
respond to this.
I don't agree with you when you say "only the truth hurts".
False rumours and misconceptions can cause actual damage.
It can do so in almost every aspect in both our personal lives
as well as in the business world, both on a local and
on a global scale.
If you were for example a bar owner and a person entered
your establishment and started greeting every new
customer with the words: I know for a fact that the guy that
runs this place spikes the beer with antifreeze and several
persons have suffered life-threatening injuries.
Ok, that's a bit dramatic.. Maybe he says you water it down or something...
Anyway, most customers will correctly surmise that this fellow
is probably a few sandwiches short of a picnic and
ignore him, but a few may think "better safe than sorry"
and choose the bar/pub across the street.
The guy accosting your customers is of course wrong,
you know that there's nothing sinister added to the beer that you serve.
Since there isn't anything wrong with your beer, there
isn't a way for the man to prove it but that doesn't stop him
from saying it.
My question to you is, would you let this man stay and continue talking
to your potential customers?
Is his right to make slanderous, harmful and unfounded accusations
against your business protected by freedom of speech?
In your own bar, nonetheless...
