Whatever you do...concentrate and don't get distracted.
I was playing this afternoon and listening to the football at the same time. I looked at my hole cards and was then distracted for a split second by a goal at the football.
Flop came K46 so I called a small raise. Turn came K and I now had trip Kings. I raised and then called an all in. Imagine my shock when my cards were QJ and not KJ. Needless to say the full house of sixes over Kings beat my hand duh
Poker is hard enough without imagining your hole cards are better than they are. Other players at the table must have thought I was crazy!!!
River was 4 by the way.

Big problem of mine is getting distracted by other things.

I done this in a live game. Ended up losing most of my stack. Went on to come 2nd though with the HU battle coming to a close when i moved all-in with A-Js and got called by A-Ks. needless to say he hit his K with the 1st card on the flop.

It's important to focus on the poker, and not do other things, even though you might get bored sometimes

lol i was playing at another site a couple weeks ago and it was a 10 seater SNG with $10 buying, first hand I get dealt is A7s, I'm LP and I'm watching tv, some monkey shoved allin with another caller, and I was paying no attention at all and thought I was calling to no raises (just the 20 chip BB) so I accidently called my whole stack on A7 I won the hand with a flush and copped so much abuse lol. (I beat AA & KQs btw)
