...to answer basic questions like why there's insufficient "play" funds to really get going, and learn the game dynamics.

This is my first login since May, and things haven't changed around here a whole lot.

Have you tried the play money sit and goes? I played a few recently and for the most part the game played out the same way as the low stakes cash sit and goes.... most times you get a table that wants to atleast try and play poker, but sometimes you get a shove-fest. Cant be helped. I'd suggest staying away from the playmoney "cash" tables though, because they really are blind shoves most of the time happy

Also, judging by the title of your tread, I hope the posts here aren't putting you off learning the game. I've been playing online poker for nearly 6 months now and still consider myself a newbie. The questions I or people of my level might ask here may seem OTT or overly complex to you, but to the hardened pros, we are all the same level fish food happy

Good luck at the tables

I also consider myself an extreme newbie, having only been playing for a couple of months now.

I found the play money tables a waste of time, to much bingo & donkey play there.

I discovered the 10c giveaways & freerolls and have been playing them ever since. This has given me a good understanding of the game, whilst not costing me anything.

Stick to those real money games & you'll soon learn and improve as a player - I know I certainly have!
