So, if I flopped a very good hand (triple T, which on the river turned to quads big grin) and the board looks really shit otherwise (for the opponent that is) and you know he couldnt have got much, how should I bait them for more money?

I tend to go all in right away or check-bet really high, but it only scares off the opponent, whilst I want to have the exact opposite - hide that I have a good hand and making the other belief I try to bluff. How much exactly should I bet?

Also keep in mind I play low stakes. wink

Another important thing is... if you know you beat the oponnent on the flop, do you try to scare him off right away or try to bait for more (with the risk of getting beaten by a lucky flush or straight draw)?

Basically its the player you play in beginner terms .. is he tight or loose? does he play many pots?

you flopped a set or trips?? trips is when board pairs and you have the 3th 10 , a set is when you have pocket 10s and on the flop there is a 10 thats better then trips in many case,

also is the board dry..: no flushdraws or straight draws if its dry just bet out a bit , if its wet lets say 10 9 8 with 2 same coloured cards then its more likely time to raise more or even shove with the micro stakes wink

Eventually it all depends on a lot of things.
maybe if you could post ur HandHistory here people will have a better look to know what to do.

I could post more in the future I guess, but good hands are rare. wink

Try not to get greedy and bet a sensible amount, about $0.30 or so. Threre's really no point betting £3.78 into a pot of $0.68...(unless you've seen him make stupid big calls already)

You can bet more if you think he's hit his draw. For example, if you had the Tc in the hole rather than the Td, and the Td came on river, he might call with a higher bet with a flush (altthough still not the amount you bet - maybe around $0.50)

U can make a slight overbet on river, he might call there, in this case tho, a valuebet is more appropriate.

if there was an Ace of King on the flop as well, that move might pay off, although i still favor a silly overbet like 2x potsize to make it look like a bluff.

Thanks happy

Hm allright, I try both tactics next time... overvalue and pot size. Lets see what works best on the lowest stakes.

To get onto another topic without making a new one:

I recently noticed, that I tend to bet draws...
Is this wrong play?

Should I rather only check on the flop or raise to have a bigger pot? I just cant decide. happy
If I dont, the pot stays ridicilously small, if I do, I might loose some money yeah, but I would have the chance to win more money if I have very good hands.

@ the initial hand. Your the pre-flop raiser so your check on the flop looks trappy or like a miss. Fire a 2/3rd's ish C-bet, if they have a hand they will come along for the ride. Then fire again on turn and then when you value bet or overbet the river the pots plumper and more likely to receive a call happy

Its best to mix up your play. So betting draws has to be part of your game especially big draws (straight/gutshotflush draws) but that doesnt mean that you should always bet them.

I often find I win the most pot by trading for shrooms.
