Hi folks, I know there are some highly reccomended books out there on poker strategy, but I was just interested to know how much they have helped you improve your game?

Have you picked a lot up from them, do you use what you have read in your game?

Please anybody answers this question by all means, but it would be nice to hear from succesful players that have some nice winnings out there.

Cheers folks.
Mike.

Well, i read Harrington on holdem, helped my game alot, expecially about the basics (pot odds, basic strategy). One of the best books if you are going to play MTT's. I'm having a good run in those, obviously i still make a lot of mistakes and bad plays, but i can sustaing a decent winning rate at small stakes. I don't follow the book ABC, as in every situation there's a play that's best and ofc. u try something new, but i use the basics.
That's really the book i'd recomend.

Thanks for that, Jusccc. That's the one I am thinking about purchasing. After you have read his book do you try and base your game on his style of play?

Harrington on holdem great book if your starting out, base your style on slyte for the first month or so and see how you fair out, it will keep you on the right track anyway, mix it up then once your roll builds and you gain more experience. gl
