It is rare for me, but sometimes you make a great bluff, brilliant, uncallable if thats even a word. Bluffing which is of course crucial in the game of poker. Your opponents time slowly runs out, and then it happens. suddenly, on the river ALL IN PROTECTION with bottom pair, and 20 seconds later the player is back.

Just an hour ago i saw a clear case of this on PKR's new 25/50 tables, tons of observers watching how a player got robbed of 6500 dollars. Months of work for most people. Nice advertisement i'd say. Tomorrow they ll do the same at their own stake, because examples are given on the highest limits and nothing is done about it. Sure you can report it to the customers service, but you never see one dollar back.

and i don't want to hear that all possible action is taken at the moment, surely the customer service will take away Dc protection from some users, but the current system clearly isnt sufficient.

DC protection should be removed for higher stakes for sure, they serve as an example, and you can expect these players to be able to buy a proper internet connection.

Im sure there are tons of threads like this, but i just dont feel its priority is high enough

thanks for listening

If its how you describe then i think you should have the pot and i hope justice is served. It seems he doesn't need to cheat but thats pretty low

whilst i fully agree... i'd also be pretty pissed if this pot was shipped to jardi after all the times i've been burnt by this and nothing has been done.

is DC protection available on other sites? i don't recall ever seeing it at either of the other two sites i play.

if it was a genuine equipment malfunction then it would be a pretty cool gesture to ship it back... but knowing him he'd more likely say he was gonna call... and request the extra bet he missed out on :p

it wasnt ejardi that this player was playing against, ejardi is just showing his concerns on the issue. It was sick i wont mention any names on here but the player in question did not even deny the fact that he cheated and seemed to be happy with the fact that dcp is a legitimate move in online holdem even at $25/50 level.
To make matters worse his best friend on the site again i will mention no names was railing the game and sticking up for the player saying he would have no problem in doing the same and hinted that he would do so if nec. this player plays a lot of $5/10 nl games. Playing against people with this mindset is impossible and admin should read through all comments on chat from railing players aswell and take appropriate action.
Other sites do have dcp but with the option of playing no dcp tables which i much prefer, i have been disconnected while playing a hand on a ncp table and while it is frustrating it happens maybe once every couple of months. Whereas it can happen a lot in 1 night to me on a table with dcp which is even more frustrating.

I was railing this said match tonight and I have to say it was generally disgusting and was the most intentional d/c I've ever seen. Anybody on the recieving end of it would have been absolutely fuming and rightly so. Something definitely needs to be done about the d/c rule in general, can't really ship the pot back to the guy as it happens at all levels of cash games on PKR so would be pretty unfair.

As for the guy who was sticking up for the villain in question, everyone knows he likes to talk general xxxx and probably shouldn't be taking seriously as he was just trying to get a rise from everybody.

Yes indeed, having the ability to choose a "No Disconnect Protection" table would be great and professional

The DC stuff here is one of the worst aspects of PKR. I have reported a vast number of times with no follow up. The only way these cheaters will learn is if they have the money the would have had to call taken from their accounts and given to the rightful winner of the pot.

I was railing that game too, because it's been really entertaining to watch over the last little while, but last night was pretty terrible.

Also, later on the player concerned did deny doing it on purpose and even offered to ship the pot back to the other guy, for what it's worth.

Is there any reason that you could not run a system where you have all in protection, but if you win the hand you only get your chips back. What that means is that if you were losing, you lose your chips, but you would have anyway. But if you were winning, you get to keep your chips, and it's tough xxxx that you got disc, at least you are not down. What that does is remove the profit from abusing the All in protection. I am sure abuse would drop immediately, while affording some protection for those genuine disconnects. It's still not perfect, but maybe better than the current system?
