Is anyone else impressed by this fold or A) is it just good play or B) is this the sort of player who thinks there is monsters under the bed and misses out on loads of value in spots where I dont have the nuts?? We have never played together so not like he has reads on how I play. I do play it very much like a set but come ON!!!!

Hmmmmm

Initial reaction was, it must of been an awful kicker. But then thinking about it must be A4, sooted probably. MUST be putting you on 55 or JJ then. Very good fold, but how can they fold trips with top kicker on that board I don't know.

Not the easiest fold but also not impossible.

Theres no way your shipping it in without a straight, FH, or with a stronger 4x (which wouldn't be the greatest play).. Also he must respect you as a decent player.
Further still your post flop play is very suss, you dont cbet a dry flop and then you raise so small on the turn when he donks into you its like you want to keep him in the hand, then the river 4bet shove is the icing on the cake, smells so badly of a monster.

You played it like a monster imo and he got an easy read.

its tough to bet the flop here and NOT get a fold, how else could I have played it??

Your right it does look like a monster but I could have AA/KK and maybe play it the same since the flop is so dry. There is only really 1 hand I could feasibly have that he loses to, and the sick thing is I had it.

Maybe he had 34s so he thought he was outkicked? Nice flop for him if he did.
