This particular road has been traveled a number of times before in different shapes and sizes..
As far as I recall , PKR will never open “chats” of any kind outside the tables chats for one very simple and blatantly obvious reason.

…it would simply create an even bigger platform for collusion. The thinking behind this is; there are already enough ways to share information online without opening a site sanctioned one.

A pretty good point there Fifthsuit and dissapointing to think my suggestion isnt original.

On the other hand what retard would actually attempt to collude through a PKR chatroom, its exactly the place that they would be found out!

I dont accept the idea that a chatroom would encourage collusion or cheating at all.

I do think a chatroom would be good for the community, if there is a worry about cheating I dont think it holds much water as an argument, like I said...trying to cheat through a PKR endorsed chatroom would be the stupidest thing anyone could ever try to attempt.

It would be the perfect way to catch cheats

It wouldnt be that hard to set up a system where anyone that is playing live cant access the chatrooms anyway.

I think social chatrooms are a good idea.

Diverting resources (man hours/funds) to open a potentially miss-usable platform only to have to police it with very little added value?...Even I can see that does not make sense.

Besides… the lads and lass’s at security have positive IQ’s and quite adequately nip those who seek unfair advantage in the bud. (without needing to heard them into a new chat room to catch them out)

^+1 a social chat room (especially one that prevents you from playing on the site while you are using it) brings no benefits whatsoever to PKR and is just not worth the hassle for them to police. It will never happen IMO.

Tribeca tried that in the old days and it didn't work out well... so many tools and returds spoiling the fun.

Obviously collusion is also an issue and you could never have multiple or private chat rooms for that reason. Unfortunately one big chat room doesn't really work very well either because it is too messy and there are too many bad apples out there who spoil the fun.



Nice idea in theory though, we have considered it in the last but always come to the conclusion that it doesn't work that well in practice.
