I wonder how many Royal Flushes get dealt a day/month on pkr? If one of the staff could give us an estimation would be great, for some reason i'd really like to hear the figure.

Some other sites offer a royal flush jackpot. I hit one once on party poker and the jackpot was sitting at about $18000. I started to jump about my computer room like a mad man then thought here wait, there was no pop up to say congrets. I checked the rules and i had the playing at 1/2nl and at least 5 people had to bein the pot. lol. I was playing .5/1nl and it was only me and one other guy.

I think a ticket to the masters would be a cool prize, are taking a % of the xxxx and puttingit towards a jackpot.

Yeah a masters ticket would be great!

I amost got one the other day - had to settle for king high straight flush in the end.

(I only won a few chips too. Didn't even knock anyone out - bah!)

I managed to get two times royal flush on one day, at pokerstars. One time one the flop.

Actually I think a royal flush is common enough.

The chances of flopping one is about 25000:1

And the odds of hitting royal on or before river is about 2500:1 - maybe even closer to 2000:1

So if you play AKs and similar hands 2500 times and never fold, expect to hit royal, many people think the chances of hitting a royal is much smaller

I was lucky enough to get one on PKR just before Christmas. I couldn't bleieve it!
But then it was over and nothing to remember it by. (I've saved my hand history though).

Acording to PKR poker school on intermediate Odds and Outs the following is quoted:-

"Of the 2,598,960 possible hands you could get in a game of poker, only four are Royal Flushes (spades, clubs, hearts and diamonds). Do the math and that means that to realistically expect to hit a royal you’d have to play for eight hours a day, seven days a week for seven years. If you get one, relish the moment." .........thats alot of Poker!

The PKR maths wiz reckons the odds of hitting on royal are 647,739 to 1, which means that to realistically expect to hit one you’d have to play for eight hours a day, seven days a week for seven years.

Also, I don't know what you mean by "on or before the river" ; I'd really like to see one after the river!

I have a program called odds calculator 0.52, it's free.

If I enter a hand like Ajs and run 300.000 times in simulation to the flop It shows number 0.0050 % to hit royal on flop.

If I enter Ajs and make it run to showdown it shows 0.050

I think 0.050 means 5 times out of ten thousand

and 0.0048 means 4.8 times out of 100.000

I have hit three times royal in a month, by the way, one time on the flop. I doubt this would happen with the odds you mention. But I'm not certain, maybe you are right.

According to wikepedia, you are right, which confuses me. I must have been quite lucky to hit royal three times in a month - two times on the same day, and one time on the flop.

I think I know where the problem is!

The reason why royal flush is about 650000:1 odds is because you need to get dealt the proper preflop hand first. And you only get Aks very seldom.

My calculation was based on the idea, that you get Aks and similar, every hand. If you get Aks every hand, you will a royal flush on the flop 25000:1

But with two random cards being dealt to you, the odds of flopping a royal is much smaller.

So we are both right

I'd like to know 2 how often does it happens here at PKR.
I've been playing online poker for over 2 years now (couple months at PKR), and this was my 4th Royal overall. But all I hear is that chances are so small you gonna ever have one, so I must be a pretty lucky person!

Yep I think you must be naturally lucky. 3 years of online and I've only had 1, seen 3 or 4 but have only nabbed myself the 1 unfortunately... and it was play money

After all 5 community cards are dealt the probabilltity to have a Royal Flush is about 1 in 33000. No more, no less!

That is if you take all your hands to the river!

It's 2 for me too I think it's a great Idea to have a prize for a royal, just a token to say hey you have had the NUTS wp, I think there has been a special fr for cash tables before on here but an entry into a tourney would be cool
