The biggest problem with PKR

i totally agree and have wondered myself this same thing. Because of this i dont play with big money in pkr and know many others who dont play with big money in pkr and many who doesnt play at all because of this problem.

Zidane, such a good point m8.

People that keep large sums in PKR are getting shafted daily. I seriously dont know what to do with the bankroll I have on PKR. Whilst I love playing here I just dont think it makes sense to keep huge sums on here and unless this gets changed as Zidane suggests. I will be forced to withdraw most of my bankroll as its literally costing me money everyday keeping it on here, due to the £ getting stronger vs the $.

Its laughable that what someone could make in a morning in $ is often devalued alot by the end of the day and you are back to square one.

PLEASE PKR LET US CHOOSE TO HAVE OUR ACCOUNTS IN £/E/USD$/CA$/AUS$ ETC OR PRESET IT SO ITS DEFAULT CURRENCY OF OUR COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE.

The only problem I see with this is do they then have to change the currency in which we play? Or do they keep the games played in $ and we buy in at a spot currency rate for our buyins and vice versa when we stand up?

exactly, not to mention the commision that is sometimes incurred by banks!

Other sites have their currency in your home currency, and then they convert the money into $ when you sit and play at a table, and back when you stand up.

PKR is really well behind the times with respect to this issue.

Most of the other major euro sites have already addressed how stupid it is to have their accounts in USD when no americans play on the site

Yes, that's how other sites do it, and you get they give you the same exchange rate when you stand up.

Jaywhat, you are totally correct. I was LOVING the $ a few weeks ago. But the currency markets are so volatile as Zidane points out that it can change in a matter of days/weeks for better/worse. I would rather have it stay on a plateau and you really know where you are at the end of the week/month instead of saying I won X this month, but really its Y because of all the fucking exchanges/rate changes.

If i wanted to play the currency markets I would do so, but we are supposed to be playing poker on PKR.

Its a catch 22 atm because you want to keep a healthy br on your most regular site but you are also petrified that you are losing money everday for it sitting there. I dont want to be forced to have a 10-20 buyin rule because its costing me too much to have more.

PLZ PKR.

Also this is the exact reason that I keep the minimum required (which is often severely underolled or a 'shot taking' roll) for my games on Stars/FTP or any other US site, it simply costs too much to deposit/withdraw or simply sit there when the market changes on you.

exactly, we are not currency traders!

The currency markets are probably going to be volitile for a while longer.

And i will definatly not be returning to pkr until they address this simple issue.

Never thought about this much but if i look back i made 2 transfers to my netellers account, see the difference!

May 21 08:33 PKR.com - €2,819.60 EUR -> this was $4000
May 08 07:42 PKR.com - €724.00 EUR -> this was $1000

4x724=2896 EUR so if i had transferred the money 2 weeks earlier i would have 76 EUR extra!

im withdrawing my bankroll from dollars into british pounds to pay for my trip to vegas.
i lose on exchange rate and bank charge
I then haev to convert it back into dollars!! to use it while out there! I might ask for a cheque next time in dollars? so i can cash it whilst in vegas would that work?

Pirate, Get yourself a Citibank USD$ bank account. They give you a debit card which can be used in all US and coem tot hink of it worldwide ATM machines and you can use it like a regular debit card too - but just use it in the US mind.

PKR wont send out cheques in USD$ I have asked many times and this would avoid the multiple xchange rates if you eventually want the USD$ cash. Its actually as though the money isnt kept in real USD$ to begin with but shows up like this in our balances! I have also asked for bank wires to my USD account but it doesnt seem they are able to do this yet either.

Simple, change the accounts into the default currency of our country, all these expensive problems solved!

I didnt set it up as a 'poker bank account' per say. It was a way of me keeping the USD$ I cashed out IN USD$ while the $ was so strong the last 6 months or so. Plus I go to USA 3-4 times a year and I need to have access to $ while I am out there, it is one of the best things I've ever done. PS etc will directly wire to your $ acct or u can get USD$ cheques.

me personally I dont care cos my $10 deposit doesnt cost me £10 but yes I kno neither does my $10,000 prize mean I get £10,000 but thats cool cos my broke ass would welcome any £££ or $$$ right now no matter what the rate of exchange lol

OK totally aggree with the OP

PKR should copy VIRGIN poker in this instance

Your account is kept in GBP £ and you choose an amount to take to the poker room this is transferred to Euro's . The games are in $ and Euros for STT;s/Cash
and Euros for MTTs

On logout the amount you leave the pokeroom is calculated back at the same exchange rate back to £.

So on login say you chose to play with say 50euros you leave the poker room with 51 euros your £ balance in your account will be aprox 88p higher.

At this moment on Virgin Poker £1 = 1.145 euros

If you were to play a marathon session (say for example 24/48 hours of up/down poker and win 114 euros... in converts back at same rate thus £100 up.

The american poker market is the main market, am i right? Why would PKR change anything now for a few individuals who seem to cry whenever they get the chance and risk isolating the millions of poker players from the US?

When it was the other way round and people where making money just from their balance sitting on a poker site noone cried then, seriously if you have a problem with it withdraw your main BR and leave enough to play with, its really easy to redeposit.

IMO its just a complete joke you guys coming on these forums and crying about something like this, its been the same since day 1 and you knew it was in USD so WTF are you crying about!
