Well, if u know me and even if you don’t, I am without question, a donk!
It is not that I try to intentionally be a donk but I have moments when I play the wrong hands badly and often I win. Nothing new in that, there are times I lose and hopefully I learn by my mistakes. However, whilst playing early this morning, the Canadian Open started, well, I am useless in multi-tabling but I was coming close to cashing in the 15$ double chance game so I didn’t pay quite as much attention to what I was doing in the C/Open as I should and called a smallish raise on my BB with Q10os, well the flop comes down including a 10, so, looking in the small box to my right, I bet the pot, about 500 chips, one guy folded, the other one called. On the turn came a king (I think) so, I checked and so did the other player upon the river comes another 10 so I made a bet, I can’t remember what and the other player went all in, so without much thought admittedly I called.
My trips beat his AA .
I clicked on the table to see whom I had donked and to be polite and say sorry when he asked why did I call a raise and a re-raise with junk? I duly replied, I didn’t know why and explained I was concentrating on my other game more as it was coming to cash-out time and didn’t see the re-raise bit and sorry etc., especially as it i was a friend etc., and he did not stop complaining, well a few minutes later my Q10 (which I think is a reasonable hand) beat him again and of course, he ranted on some more, then on my BB he called, flop comes 876, I had J8 so made a bet, he went all in and I called, turn was a 9, river was a 10 (or similar) but I beat his 6 something.
Well the torrent of abuse was pathetic, after a while, I moved tables, he was there like a shot telling everyone what a donk I was, after almost an hour 2 players from the original table sat down to be amused that he was still there going on and on and on etc., well it lasted all the way thru the game to the FT.
We were 9 players left and I was SB with AA, someone raised and I went all in he called with AQc
Flop comes down with 3 clubs so I lost the hand said nh to the other guy and that was that. We must have all lost with AA, I have on numerous occasions and it may well be deemed a “bad beat” but I have chosen to go all in if I lose, I lose, not the end of my life, there is always another game! Oh no it wasn’t, my pet stalker was there, going on and on and on, even tho many players had asked him to shut up, he didn’t.
A few hands later I was out, I wished all the remaining players good luck etc., as a decent player does upon loosing and decided to go to bed.
It was very sad to see someone be such a sore loser for over 3 and half hours.
So after all of the above abuse, this is NOT an apology for being a donk.
Like everyone else in the game, I paid my money, I will play what I want, when I want, however I want! Simple, OK.
Sincerely,
Samantha
