Firstly, let me start that I have sat at a table with most these players and more or less held my own. I don't do it anymore as I just don't have the bankroll some these guys have and I am a far better Tourney player then cash. And lets be honest these guys are just far better then me and I ain't in their league when it comes to cash games.

It's hard not to admire some of these players. The bet 5k on some hands as if it were 50 cents!. I rail alot of these high stakes cash games because they are fun to watch and you really can learn alot from these guys/girls.

Watching these games alot of things fascinate me and I as hoping maybe a few of you out there could answer some of these questions..

1) Why does GoldeneyeHD have such a lack of respect for the PKR pro's. I haven't played much with James, but Golfpro I find is a fantastic player who makes amazing reads yet according to GoldeneyeHD they (Andrew and James) are both donks!? Is GoldeneyeHD that good? If so why isn't he a PKR pro? The dude is arrogant thats for sure. His total lack of respect for these guys is unreal.

2) Why do some of these guys deliberately avoid playing each other. Beyne seems to never want to play Goldeneye in a HU match. I always thought Beyne to be totally fearless, yet he never seems to want to tussle with Goldeneye HU. Then we have 1kevboy who I think is just an amazing cash game player, Goldeneye seems to avoid him at all costs HU for some reason? They both wait patiently 25/50 in HU yet don't do the obvious and just play one another? We do some players join a table with the same stakes yet won't actually play each other. I don''t get that.

3) Maybe no one knows the answer to this, but who would be the best cash game player on PKR? Tiptop22 is a good player but I don't believe he is as good as the Players that I have mentioned above. For me its Beyne. Just wondering what other PKR players thought.

Cheers

1) Jealous mofo
2.) They do play each other, but common sense = no point playing the best all the time, when plenty of fish in sea etc
3.) Prob Kevboy from what I have seen on here

goldeneye has little willy syndrome and is just a tad jealous

Players who respect each others game at this level will stay out of each others way.
Why play someone when you have little/no edge??

Not really sure who the best is as I dont rail/play that high up.

golfpro and james666 are much better than goldeneye imo because they are well-rounded players. they can adapt to pwn in an mtt as easily as they can to middle or high stakes cash, whereas goldeneye just plays short handed cash at 5/10+ and from what i've seen, he doesn't play anything else.

to my mind the best player is the one who can turn his hand to any form of poker, not the one who just specialises in making people tilt by being rude and then taking their money. wink

kevboy, beyne, tiptop, dappa, gretty etc are also all very good imho.

p.s. beyne loves playing golden and plays him a lot... i've seen them clash quite a few times in the last 2 weeks and big sums of money have shipped back and forth. beyne isn't just fearless, he is a sicko adrenaline junkie.

All that said Golden is very good at what he does and if you are an unsponsored pro then nothing is more important than reliable and constant income, so i don't blame him for sticking with what he's good at. wink

I been playing PKR for a good 3 yrs and seen James at the top consistently making money all that time.

There have been players who have kinda taken the high stakes by storm for 6mnths - 1 year then they disappear or u see them on 1/2 tables. James and Kevboy have always been up there which is a huge measure of how good someone is.

But at the moment on pkr Golden is one of the best. Live is another story that Goldeneye doesnt really wanna answer.

You wouldn't want just the most successful players as your sponsored pros surely?
Why sponsor someone who is going to beat the pants off everyone on the site and abuse them while they're doing it?
You want players who will be your ambassador and who can connect PKR to other players out there.
Look at the stuff that Discomonkey and James666 does on the forums and Ashley Hame's amusing output - that's the kind of collaborative approach you want.

@ Jabba, tbf I consider a player who makes large sums consistently to be better, I don't know much on the subject but by the sounds of things that'd be golden - why play MTTs when he clearly doesn't need to.

im not high stakes player but at my games im always known for saying that someone can not consider themselves a great poker player when they can only play one type of the game ie hu what jabba is saying is that james666 and goldpro ect have proven themselves in many types of game therefor being able to call themselves great poker players not just great internet heads up players
