$2-$4 Cash game 6max
Player 1: Has been playing reasonable tight and not getting out of order in any way.
Player 2: Playing laggy and is quite capable of anything.

Stacks of both players are deep.
Player 1: $16000
Player 2: $2000

Action is folded around to player 2 who is on the button makes a min raise to $9.
Small blind folds player 1 in big blind calls.

Pot sizebashful cute20

Flop: 6dKc7s

Player 1 checks,player 2 bets $16, player 1 calls.

Pot sizebashful cute52

Turn: 8s

Player 1 checks,player 2 bets $39,player 1 check-raises to $96. Player 2 then insta re-raises to $340,player 1 calls.

Pot size: $732

River: Qh

Player 1 checks........
Now here's my question: If player 2 has a set in this spot and given the image of player 1, what is the MAX he will bet here, or does he check.

Knowing maths is an important part of the game, but you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to be a winning player. For me I have no problem coming on here and saying that it’s mostly definitely the weakest part of my game.
Do I crunch numbers thou my head every hand I play. No.
Pot odds, implied odds, all these things are common sense in the long run and most players will know if there’s value in raising or calling without having to get the calculator out.
Sure knowing every percentage of every hand would be an asset to any player’s game, but I think having the basic “kop on” is far more important for any player.
But if any one is giving out free maths grinds please let me know. wink

Practice makes prefect, only way for you to improve is to put in the hours.
Sng’s are ok , but try your hand at a few Mtt’s , challenge yourself to get as deep as you can in them for the first few, making it your goal to get farther than you did in the last one.
There is a wealth of information out there on the internet go through and compare your hand histories with that of other people to get feedback on different situations.
Read a book or two on the subject something I found to be a big help when starting out.
All these things will improve your game but putting in the hours at the table is the best learning curve for any player.

For me its a shove every day of the week no question, this late in the tournament is not the time to be playing passive and calling raises, fold or shove.
Would be nice to know a bit about player 1, but unless they were a rock I'am getting it in here.

Good luck to you Sir, 10k is a nice target for the year and hope you get there.
If you can find the patience which is the key, then you will have no trouble at all.
Gl and all the best.

Well done PKR, the sports book will be a rip roaring success imo. Now all Arsenal have to do is win the triple. happy
Also its 5000/1 on Henry to score with his other hand in the summer world cup, worth a punt I think.

If you can get it in pre flop fine, happy days.
Apart from that there is no right or wrong way, if there was we would all be minted.
The texture of the flop, position in the hand, numbers of players, and type of player you’re against (rock, calling station) all these things will be different in any given situation.
No rule of thumb really that’s what makes poker so great
