In recent Live tournaments i've played pretty well but i cant seem to replicate my tournament game online, not consistantly anyway.
Has any of you guys experienced this and/or have any advice.

PS, i've only been playing regular since May.

It is a notorious situation, that live players cannot adapt to play online, and don't get me wrong, it can also be the same the other way around... Some great online players, cannot cope with the slow paced and in depth psychology that is live poker...

In general, you are not alone, a lot of regular live players prefer playing live, for that very reason - because they cannot adjust to online play... Online play is a lot quicker, players are in general, far more aggressive and take more risks regularly than live players.

In general you need to play more aggressively online, than you would live, as players will walk all over you if you play very passively, You should also be aware that players find it easier to stack off online, as the money does not seem real... therefore you should be calling peoples allins a lot lighter, and gambling more than you normally would...

This is a broad generalisation, but hope it helps...

I think the main reason for this difference is that an online player can be playing 3 other tourneys at the same time and not be so bothered about being knocked out - or he can enter another tourney right away. Live, you're heading home.

Thanks for taking time to reply, i'll take the advice onboard and see how I get on.

With regards to the local Casino comment, yes you get a lot of bad players but a few good ones too, personally I'm still on a steep learning curve with me new to the game but having said that I think i still have a game, only time will tell Happy

Thanks again.

i kind of feel the same way. feel that i play better live than online and here is why.

the pace is so much slower live than online. i am also more focused live. when i play online i usually have msn going on, maybe some crappy entertaining reality show on the tv=) music +++ you are not that aware of the table dynamics and reads online.

also the other guys have have pointed out some important differences. online is more aggressive. its easier to stack off online since you dont have the cash in front of you. its just a number.

anyway, gl in finding your way of winning online.
