Abusive/innapropriate? Report this post.

ok im playing one of the sunday majors yesterday and have recently moved to the table after winning a flip before i moved tables

i have 9k in chips and my 1st hand is A10o on the bb and the cutoff opens(7500 in chips)
(i have seen him in a hand as i sat down limp 3betting a guy in the blinds saying "greedy greedy" in the chat as he expects the guy to fold. )
the blinds are 100/200 he raises to 500, i 3bet to 1350 and he flat calls the flop is 822 rainbow........

what do you do, based on your only other knowledge of the player in the previous hand

i also have a follow up hand after this one which was a couple of hands later which i will post after a few responses.......

You've got yourself into a tricky spot with these stack sizes. Just call preflop?

The value from this play comes from the folds you get. Now that you're here, you don't want to spew. Check and call the flop, hope you can hit or bluff a good turn card (paint).

well, i will see what some of the other pros say, but my mistakes are pretty fundamental here

i shudnt really 3bet ato oop when im new at a table, especially with these stack sizes, his stack size allows him to call and shove over the top of my cbet or flat me and take a flop and get away if he misses......

i shud flat pre i think , then lead/check raise/cehckfold depending on the texture of the flop.

givent hat i have 3bet i shud prolly cehck raise the flop or check fold or check call, i think i get shoved on too many times when i lead here.

i agre but we are 40bb deep or near enough, effective, so i dont mind flatting a lp raiser with at and small pot pokering him

that was the lie i shud have taken and it cost me chips ,

i lead the flop and he tank jammed over it.

i wouldnt 3bet preflop with a hand like AT there. well u did and the flop 822 doesnt change much. now u just have to decide if your hand was good preflop. if not whats you best strategy to win this pot??

by leading out i think u can get called or raised by a lot from a guy like him. then u just have to go with your gut if you think youre ahead or not.

the best way is probably to go for a check raise all-in if you still think you are ahead. also that could get him to fold small medium PP. or maybe even AJ AQ?

hand #2. all-in.

dont let him see a free river just in case. and if he has any Q. JT J9 he would also call.
