i would have shipped the flop after reading some of the hand histories on this guy in the cash section, he'd call with any king.failing that i definitely wouldn't check the turn, and i wouldn't call the river either for my tourney life. In a cash game where i can reload i may here call depending on villian but in a tourney on the first hand i definitely wouldn't.

i might flat the flop and bet out the turn, about 850, e is pretty bad so will call wide i might even call the river vs him cos he loves to bluff whereever he can.

first hand in a tourney. sorry, but i think this was a dumb call=( no need to make hero calls, even though you have a set. its early and you have a lot of time to gain chips=)

would reraise on the flop to build the pot bigger or to get him all-in....

having reread this, didnt realise it was first hand, and + its a massive overbet on the river.

you have to be correct that you are winning lots of times to make this a profitable call in the long run so its almost impossible to make this call i think.

id prolly bet//shove the turn and if he flats my bet id blocker bet/fold the river

His min rasie on the flop should have had you thinking he was drawing with some kind of a hand and was looking for a cheap turn, as it happened he had top pair, I would have definitley re-raised him on the flop.
The ace on the turn is not a nice card if he was drawing to a straight, but I would still bet in this spot, 3/4 the pot, bad card on the river and i think its an easy fold this early in the tournament.
With a player like this your always in with a good chance off getting all your chips back off him at some stage anyway.

Sorry sir, but i think it is a terrible call... I do not like the way y ou played the flop either, donking out is fine to see how strong your opponent is, but when he raises you, i think you should be trying to get a lot more in the pot there and then, and it is very hard for the opponent to put you on a set when you lead out the flop...

150 donk bet, then he min raises to 300, i would pop it back to about 800/850 to a) gain maximum value from a top pair sort of hand b) try to induce a bluff from him with a gutshot draw etc... c) to take control of the aggression, seeing as you are out of position..

I do not mind leading out on the river for value, but with the one card to a straight out, and you facing a 3bet allin on the river, he is never bluffing there... Pretty easy fold in my opinion sir :-(

You lost the hand on the turn when you checked.

Unless you put him on KK or AA you should have protected your hand.
