My exit hand from tonight's $150 Primetime # 5

Would anyone even think for a second they could be behind here? Any thoughts on my line here would be greatly appreciated.

no way u can ever get away once u see the flop.

im not a fan of ur line tho , sorry. preflop ur not deep enough imo to peel one off OOP. if villain seems solid this a a great 3 bet opportunity preflop. ir so easily dominated by the hands hed usually fold to a 3 bet and likely live to the ones he calls. altho thts not the point, ur reppin a big pair/AK.

on the turn ur check minraise is such a strong move tht if he has what hes repped(overpair) anyone with half a brain can fold. if u dont jam flop u shud smooth and open jam river to leave shadow of doubt over u having a 9 or not(or mebbe KK/AA). ur never bluffing here is wot im getting at. minimal opportunity to get payed by a worse hand

not tryin to be preachy tonight but if u ask im happy to oblige an opinion. as always disagree if u like but give reasons.

Opinions are always welcome. If you ask the question you have to accept the response Happy

My thinking when flatting his raise (although oop) was that the BB has been super nitty and folding to nearly any raise from any player in any position. My range for sumo was mid PP upwards or AJ/AQ/AK and possibly KQ/KJ. So with a dry flop, or a connected flop for me it would give me the chance to check raise as he is certainly likely to cbet a wide range of flops a high percentage of times.

I like the line of the 3 bet pre but was worried about having to fold without seeing a flop if he came over the top. In your opinion was this thinking a little too passive?

its too aggressive imo! this is a nice line to take when deep but the checkraise on a flop unlikely to improve villain wud commit over half ur stack on 10 high with only a 4/5bb or so gain over 3 bet pre and he folds. one fails u have 24/25 BBs left, other fails you have 15/16. ths nearly 10BBs diff for a 4/5BB gain in equity.

im assuming this guy has opened a lot when given the opportunity? if hes bin super rock then all academic obv.

Valid point.

He had not been super aggro by any means, but also was not afraid to open in position.

I would imagine, looking back, that our images of each other were not to dissimilar as we had both taken down a few pots without the other players putting up too much of a fight.

The 3 bet pre makes perfect sense with hindsight, especially as he was definitely solid enough to lay down K9s to a raise pre.........thanks for the response anything constructive is always welcome! especially if its anything above level 1 thinking! Wink

I'd probably be taking the line of 3 betting/fold. If you 3 bet pre, I'd put money on sumoface flatting, I've 3 bet him plenty before lol.
