First live win.

so chuffed right now, just got back from the casino after 7 hours playing a £10 double chance. 94 runners, got to the last 2 of us, he wanted to split the money, so I agreed, I reckon I could have easily had him heads up, but it was 3am and I just wanted to end it, lol. Walked away with a nice £390 though.

Now, i've played 2 biggish live tournaments, and final tabled both, with one 'win' as such. On sunday 25th I am going to be playing in the coral british masters poker tour in bristol. the side event £100 (+£10)

...any tips for a big mtt like this?

I look down at AdQd in late position. blinds are 25/50 with effective stacks of 7500. I raise to 150, early position raises to 300, everyone else has folded. I 4 bet him to 700 to find out where I am, and he flat calls. now I think AA, KK, AK, AQ,QQ,JJ, maybe even 1010. flop comes Q high, rest are blanks. He bets out around 1000, and I call, to see his move on the turn. turn brings the Q, so I know im ahead now. he bets out around 2500, and again I call. River brings the A. the only hands beating me here is AA, he bets out around 2000 again and I move all in for the rest, just praying he doesn't have it...

he calls, he does, im out.

punched the elevator on the way out, cut my hand, gay.

In retrospect I should have gone with my read of kings or better, and folded the flop, TPTK is just so nice though.

y did u erase ur 'this isnt my first live win satfat' but ty even u named the thread first live win. all ur posts here show a real arrogance and a pretty basic/level 1 understanding of the game. from personal experience i know there is nothing more dangerous than thinking ur the shit when in actuality ur just finding the path and ur on a heater.......
