So i was in this tournament, quite early i get aj late posiiton, standard raise and i get 2 callers.

flop comes dry with j on top, first position bet 160, i raised to 470, she pushed all in, i call.

Reason i rr and called was that i wasnt afraid of a set or pp2, cause i didnt belive she would leaad out with such a strong hand from first postion (though it happens)

Sure enough she flip over jk, and k comes on river.

This happens quite alot, and usually means an early exit or close to or in the final table.

Question is, is it better to let it go and wait for a better chance, or stick to your gut and reads, and hope you dont get donked?

here is the hand btw

well bad beats happen, and sometimes im the one doing it,
so what im wondering, is to stick to your gut, or avoid situations like that, and just fold, or keep it real small?

i can also say that i never have any luck slow playing. usually it ends in a disaster big grin

Well, don't try to avoid getting in situations where your opponent is drawing to 2 or 3 outs, that's for sure.

Unlucky, just stay with it. Variance sucks.

this is just really ul. you should not change your play. in the long term you will win with this move.
and Kingcallum, obviously you have been to a few of my tables and if you feel that you are being robbed I strongly advise you go elswhere. I can somewhat see where you are coming from as you have been on a few losing hands to me recently. usually when you are behind though!

Answer to your question is easy:

You are never donked if you always get your money in with the worst hand.

Honestly, you're an idiot.
You should play more and read more about poker because it's clear that you have no idea about it. * thumbsup*

Obiously the flop was good AND scary for me. I was first to act, so made a pot sized bet of 400, which is alot at that stage of the tournament.

Not only did i get one caller, i got THREE!
Turn made another possible straight draw, so i checked and called the bet.
River was blank so i thought fuck it, the pot is so big ill just go for it and hope no one had the straight.
Got one caller, and i took down this huge pot.

The next one, i got alot of abuse for.

Take a look:

Sure i was creative on that one, but decided on flop that this is a setup where i can try to bluff, and steal the pot if i miss.
When the diamond showed up on turn, i decided to bet on my imaginary flush and rr out of position, and i got lucky on the river with another 10.

i had to take alot of abuse on that one, but at least in my mind, i just played the board, and in most cases the player would have folded on my rr.

I didnt think he had the flush since with his bet on turn he bet twice the amount that he did on the flop, he would keep it small, or even check it to keep me in the pot, so i felt confident that i could take it down right there.

So, any opinions, right wrong, stupid etc?
