What do you think. I honestly can't decide if the fold was right or not. Didn't have much of a read on the guy. He was playing a few hands but none I'd seen go to showdown.

i dont know why you played the hand like this - you hit top trips on the flop - the nuts - i think its a mistake to focus on what happened after that. But since you ask, i guess its more likely he has a straight than aces which still gives you a shot at beating him with a house on the river so i'm calling here but thats may be because i dont really mind losing the four dollars happy

yeah i think its a good fold. i'd imagaine he must have some kind of A 5 or 5 6 in his hand and has hit it on the turn. myt even be better that u didnt play it too aggresively, he could easily have had 5 6 of hearts in his hand and no way hes folding to any bet on the flop anyway.

I agree on this occasion your lack of aggression might have been a blessing, very likely he hit a straight. Slowplaying in PLO is a bad play more often than not as satfat said but you got out cheap in my opinion in this hand.

Yeh as been said mate, u gotta pot bet the flop, make em pay to see the cards.
Call is correct to his raise on turn with outs for your FH.
Im not really getting his pot bet on the river though to be honest, You showed weakness with the check (obviously though because you are probably beat there anyway) But If he had the nuts I dont really get why he would pot bet it, personally if I had the nuts there I would want a call and just bet half the pot in the hope that a set or lower straight might call.
At higher stakes the river bet would look like a blatant bluff to me, If you could afford it I would of called the river anyway even if it was just for the info for future use! wink
But thats just me! happy

Thanks Jay and everyone else. The reason I didn't PB the flop was because of the 2 to act after me, I was pretty sure that one of them would lead out and I could check raise. Alas it didn't happen though.

On the river, I had the same thought's Jay, but I only had $8 in my account because I deposited $15 especially for your private tourney Jay and had ground $4 up to $8. So I couldn't really afford the call even if I thought he was bluffing.

I lost the rest earlier check raising it all in with trip 7's, up and down plus a flush draw. Got called by a higher flush draw with gutter, he hadn't hit the flop at all and he makes his straight on the river.

/shame wink
