6 players left at the table. im on the button with 9d 10d. the guy to act before me is a very tight solid player.

blinds 50/100
guys stack: 5000
my stack 3000

action gets to him and he raises to 300, i look down at 9d 10d on the button and make the call. both blinds fold

Flop: J 10 10

he checks and i bet 350 and he sits for a minute and calls. so im thinking AA KK QQ maybe even AJ and also possibly JJ.

Turn: 7....no flush draws present.

he checks again and i bet 550 and he sits again and this time raises me to 1100. i have made my mind up here that he has an overpair and is trying to figure out where hes at. i call again

river: 2

he bets enough to put me all-in

what do you do???

from the clickraise on the turn i'd say he has JJ, but yeah he could also have an overpair. i'd go all in here.

so he had the thinking cap on eh.
That tells me that he either had JJ, and try to make it look that he is unsure if he should call or not, or he thinks that you are trying to steal it, and could sit with any 2 cards

Cant say what i would do, since i havent seen his previous actions, and betting patterns.

I think he tries to bluff the bluffer (in his mind) and have 39 off suit big grin In his mind he wont put on you a 10, since you bet the flop.

Would no one here suggest a check behind on the turn for a bit of pot control with the view to calling a bet on the river?

I'm folding here, I'm pretty sure he has JJ.
BUT
Maybe he was trying to build some momentum with his tight image. Maybe he decided to steal your button with a hidden hand like 89s. That would explain his long thought after your initial raise. And his reraise on the turn to try and block the full house hitting on the river. Just thinking happy

cheers guys lots of different answers which is good.

i like forza bobs answer, i think checking behind on the turn and calling a small to medium bet on river would have been the better play for pot control.

i ended up folding because i have never seen him put me all-in before on a bluff and had to assume i was behind.

he showed JJ by the way for the flopped boat.
