My hotel is the Tuscany suites and I would recommend this to anyone. I ‘m staying for three and a half weeks but only booked into this hotel for a week as I wanted to see what it was like and it's location. $150 per week sounds way too cheap to me, but believe me its fine - huge double room, it's an small apartment if anything, spotless and safe. I'll be booking in here for the rest of my stay.
So I left Dublin on a bad note. Deciding I need dollars (I had €1000 in my pocket and said I would get another 500 from the ATM) I stick in my card, put in my pin, enter 'Withdraw 500', take my card AND walk away from the machine leaving the money behind me. I'm sure the next lucky user thinks Christmas has come early for him! I pass though airport security half an hour later and realise what I've done. God I’m feeling so lucky, what a start to my trip.
I would like to say well done james666 by the way. Great performance coming 7th for $55K in Event 19, and hopefully you'll take the next one down.
Event 34 $1500 No Limit Holdem - 16 June
4000 starting stack, 60 min blinds. Had just met up with kingkai84 and pokey85 and both these guys were playing this tournament also. Felt in the right frame of mind for this one as I had an early night the night before, slept as soon as I got off the plane and felt well rested. My table seemed to be mostly unknowns, but nowadays there’s so many good internet players out there its hard to tell who you're up against.
First hour of play I’m taking it easy, steal an odd blind or two nothing major. With blinds at 50/100, I pick up QQ on the butt
on, and had being raising from this position more than my fair share, so I make it 275 to play. I made it small enough as the blinds were folding a lot to a raise and I wanted a bit a action with this hand. The big blind calls, and we see a 3s4s9c flop. I lead out for 350 into a 600 pot, he calls, Kc turn I lead out again 900 this time not really fearing the king. He thinks for a while and folds his hand.
Cooler time
The table has been playing fairly tight, passive and me and a Scandinavian player had been raising a lot of hands pre-flop and were building our stacks nicely. Not many hands to mention until I clash with this player. Blinds 100/200, stack 6200 and I pick up 77 in the big blind. Everyone folds around to the aggressive Swede in the cutoff and he makes it 525 to play. The table folded to me and I make the call. Flop 7h 6s Jh, and I decide to check knowing he will bet out and he does just that - 800 into a 1200 or 1300 pot. I think for a bit then bump it up - calling his 800 and raising it another 1500 to play. Not much thought from the guy and he shoves all-in! He has me covered by a couple of hundred, I'm putting him on a draw or an over pair and I make the call.... He turns over JJ. 'Nice hand' was all that was left to say and there goes bracelet number one down the drain.
So looking forward to Event 39 and hope to go a lot deeper in this one. Until then, callmebabe here coming to you from the bright lights of Las Vegas.
