Events/live poker, Team PKR, Tournament reports

Well overall, the tournament side of things did not go to plan. In the three $1,500 events that I played, I think I played way too tight. In my opinion they can be a bit of a crapshoot. If you don't pick up a hand in the first three or four levels you find yourself under pressure, as the blinds and the short stack bear down on you. It's all a lesson learned and I'll be wiser to it next time.
The $5,000 tournament was an eye opener and a great tournament to play. The level of aggression was really something else to see, and of course having Phil Laak sitting across from you in a 5-handed game was totally awesome. It was just a privilege to play with these guys and mix it up with the best players in the world.
As a place, Vegas was mind-blowing for me. The city never, ever sleeps. The cash games run 24-7, the bars are open 24-7 and I couldn't run 24-7 myself! There were a few days when I gave it a hell of a try... It was great meeting up with all the PKR crew and all the guys from James's crib. The PKR Party at the Hugh Hefner Suite was a night to remember (from what I can remember of it), and I'm still recovering from that one. The barbecue at James's house was the perfect place to spend the 4th July, and I'm looking forward to seeing the videos and pictures from that.
For anyone going to Vegas in the near future, it's a place like no other. For poker players it's heaven, for shoppers (with huge wallets) it's Mecca, and for the everyday day tourist I would recommend it - a- must-see once in your lifetime. For me, I've got the bug and will be back many more occasions, so until next time...
Shuffle up and deal me in!
