I've been playing poker on a daily basis now for the past two weeks and am happy with my cash game. Been trying to throw in the odd tournament or two and have been doing alright in recent weeks and if I can only keep my finger away from the raise button I know I can run a lot deeper in some of the tourneys I have played. I’m finding myself chip leader or in the top three or four runners in the early and middle stages of a tournament and then blowing up by being way too aggressive in certain spots, thinking I can push my opponent off a hand with a mad bluff. This I know is a part of my game I will definitely have to work on in the future.
Saturday Big Shot
I played the Big Shot last Saturday [tournamenrt report], for the first time in a long time and really enjoyed it. I closed all my cash tables and just had this table up, as I do find having the cash tables open when playing a tournament will make you donk off chips and I find I lose interest very quickly. Can’t wait to see the PKR TV episode of the final table as I found my self making some crazy moves. Well I got all my chips in good with QQ for a huge chip lead, but an Ace on the flop sent me packing. There’s always another one around the corner.
Upcoming live poker
I will be playing a couple of live events in the near future on behalf of Team PKR: the GUKPT in Cardiff at the end of August, then maybe the English Poker Open in Nottingham around the middle of September. I’m looking forward to playing live again, this time taking no prisoners and hopefully making a final table or better. The experience of playing live in Vegas will hopefully stand for me in good stead, as those first few rounds of any big buy-in event can be nerve wrecking, so I hope to settle in to my game a lot faster.
All in all everything is rosy at the moment in callmebabes world! I'm off to Spain this weekend for a few days and that’s my last holiday then til Christmas I think, so its going to be poker, poker, poker for me…life’s just great isn’t it ;)
Best of luck, til later...
