Danski: Thanks for talking to us, DRFrever. You were one of the first players to appear on PKR TV, with some awesome early performances against the likes of theruffler and sourshark. You've clearly been doing well online, but how have you fared offline?
DRFrever: I hang out in the cardroom at the G Casino in Luton, especially the £100 freezouts on Sundays. I have three wins in that event.
D: What's been your crowning moment in poker so far?
DF: Winning the TV Tournament on Episode 8 of PKR TV was a real breakthrough for me and gave me the belief that I could win any MTT on my day. Seeing it all on TV was great especially as I thought I played well and pretty tight. I've been featured on PKR TV a couple more times after that but the first one was definitely the best so far (although my Big Shot win will be going on very soon [it's out now - Danski] and i'm psyched about that as my style was somewhat....different).
D: What's your goal in poker? And don't tell us it's 'to go pro'"
DF: One day I'll give up my dayjob and turn professional. I know it can be done as there was someone in my class at college who is now one of the most famous UK pro players...Roland de Wolfe!
D: Well, we wish you luck! Onto online poker, what's your favourite PKR MTT?
DF: The Saturday Big Shot - I love this event. Plenty of chips, plenty of time, no excuses. And a big payout in the end. The buy-in is massive but it needs to be protect the integrity of the tournament. I normally try and get in via satellite anyway. Interestingly, I find getting my seat about five times harder than the tournament itself.
D: I have to ask this, in case I ever get a strange answer! What's your preferred (or least preferred) poker hand?
DF: My least favourite hand is AK. Such an 'iffy' hand and feel dutybound to push, push, push with it - often not a great idea. My favourite hand is AA - I love all the different options this hand gives you in different stages of the tournament and in different positions on the table.
D: Name some PKR players you most respect.
DF: I can think of a couple of players who quite often get all my chips in the Omaha tourneys. It happens less often now but players like dav20000 and flynndig tend to get all my chips by letting me bluff at pots which they often have locked down. Of course, if I see someone like farryboy on my NLH table or one of the other 'top' players I tend to show them more respect than others on the table.
D: As primarily a tournament player, tell us briefly about your views on cash games.
DF: Tend not to play cash. It's just something i've always tended to avoid online because i like to know how much i'm gambling with and i like the structure of MTT play. I do play a bit in the casino and it can be lots of fun because people play looser on the cash tables than they do on the MTT tables.
D: Any hobbies to keep your life in balance?!
DF: Chess.
D: DRFrever, thanks for talking to us. Your record speaks for itself, and I look forward to commentating on your play at future PKR TV final tables
