The Deep Stack special saw new Marketing Team member PKR_Antoine battle a 275-runner field to reach the final table, having enjoyed the chip lead for much of the latter stages of the event. Despite the onslaught of seven Brits at the final table (we count Antoine as our own!), it was Community giant brutusnr1 who prevailed, taking down his 67th PKR tournament - almost certainly his proudest moment!

Brutusnr1, a TV Tournament and PKR Open champion in 18th place on the All Time Money List with a storming $82,422 in tournament earnings, brought the final table to a thrilling conclusion by busting PKR_Antoine along with his two other opponents.

PKR TV: 16 November 2009 Forum Invitational - final hand!

Bounty winners

Brutusnr1 not only won the $50 bounty for busting PKR_Antoine, but Antoine's fourth place cash as well. That makes $539 for the win, plus $50, plus $166 = $755.85!

Danski came unstuck at the hands of nkatan who claimed $50. Another man to pick up $50 was Jabba's conqueror PokerKingUK81, who eliminated the lovable clown in 275th of 275...some serious bang for our buck!

Interviews

In a forum post made this morning, brutusnr1 defended his final call to PKR_Antoine, and came good on his promise to bring a consolation gift of Nordic mulled wine - Glogg - to PKR Live III!

"It looks pretty bad calling with 3-4o there, but I get sick value to call, even being miles behind... Wp, gg and yes, I'll bring you the Glogg!"

PKR_Antoine commented on his fine effort, all the more important after PKR_Jabba became the first man out:

"Jabba first out is something we get used to, so I wasn't that surprised. I just wanted to get as far as I could and I know players are happy when PKR_Bounties reach the money. Brutusnr1 won over $750 for a $5 buy-in, which I just think this is great!"

As PKR's Staff Heads Up Champ, Antoine had something to prove at the ten seat tables:

"I know I have this HU reputation; but hey I also finished 19th/908 in the Bounty tournament on 07 October, and yesterday 4th/275 - so my game is improving, watch out! This tourney had a nice structure, I guess it's my kind of structure."

We suspect that, after hanging out with Team PKR Pro zlatan35, some of his luck has rubbed off...

"Luck? What luck?! Zlatan35 is not lucky, he's good, one of the best players in France at the moment, and that's including me. Impressive..."

But who was Antoine's toughest opponent at the final table?

"Definitely Brutusnr1. You can see he has final table experience, not afraid of raising in position with strange hands; It's something I can't do and I know that's where I have to improve. I also respected Durdy's game at the final table, very aggressive and smart. I'm glad he finished fifth!"

On the outrageous final hand, Antoine commented...

"One of the sickest hands I've seen in a long time, a great way to get a winner. Magnifique value call, thanks for the lesson, Brutusnr1!"

Future Forum Invitationals...

The Forum Invitational rears it far-from-ugly head again on 30 November with $500 Added, followed by the celebration of a cracking year in the Community with a Forum Invitational Christmas Special on 14 December with $2,000 ADDED, $100 bounties (watch out for mystery Team PKR Pros)!

See you there!
