Golfpro699 WSOP blog (Part 2)

Can I say much about the Main Event? Rather not :( I was fustrated the whole time, as I'd keep losing chips everytime I won some. At one point I had got to 75k, after cold 4-betting 75o and flopping da nuts (well, TP), and then finally flopping a set and being behind. I called a smallish check-raise on the flop with 88 on T83sss, turn T and we get it in. Dealer made me slowroll him, because they have to announce 'all in and a call'. However second last hand of the night, someone decided to cold call my UTG+1 3-bet with the nut 4 high, and proceed to play way better than me.

Main Event Day Two

Day 2 started with 40k, and I got to 27k with some expert speed. I'd build back to ~38k, including a hero call of 55 in the bb against a biggish shove. When I got moved to a table with the one the only Dave "the Devilfish" Ulliot. By the way, this is what happens when people get paid by the word. We include this whole sentence. Anyway he's two to my left with maybe ~105k, the chips were fairly spread with everyone having like 50k-90k with most 70k+. Unfortunately I don't get to stay long. Before we're broken, there was a little tandem with me winning then immediately losing.

I win a hand with AJ on J7583 and won a decent pot to get to 55k. Almost immediately after, active UTG opens 1800 at 300/600/75, I flat AK two behind, Devilfish flats two behind me, because why wouldn't he and we see AT6r. Check check check. I'm indifferent, betting or checking, I conclude Devilfish has two random low cards, and UTG has to be drawing thin too. Turn J, check, I bet 3200, devilfish folds, UTG calls. River blanks and I bet 7550. He calls and I flip thinking I had to win, he clearly plays JJ just like he does. I was kinda shocked, the backdoorflush did come in, but still!

My bustout hand was on a new table, I 3-bet/called aqss for 60bbs, because it was my first shot to punt and I took it. And the last hand before the dinner break fml.

I ended up cashing 4 out of 12 tournaments, dissapointed in the ME, but I'm blaming it on being in Vegas too long. My later performances were definitely much worse than the earlier weeks. I'll just have to figure it out for next time.

November Nine

The FT for the main event is totally sick. Ivey ldo, James Akenhead and a couple of other players I think are pretty good. I'm rooting for Ivey first, because obviously I don't bet against Ivey, but I also like James who I think is a pretty sick live donkament grinder. He has the shortstack, but still 20bbs I think.

I've been back about 5 days now. Tried to stay away online but couldn't. Timex [EPT champion Mike McDonald] is in town. I'm gonna get back to grinding online donkaments this weekend. I haven't played any in a while, so hopefully I'm not rusty. I am back on my home setup so I get to play euro sites again! woot pkr...
