I had a pretty awful first hour, not actually winning any pots and had 8.7k by the second level. I was actually pretty pumped to still have so many chips given the number of pots I won. Thankfully I won a couple before the third level. In one hand, the hijack opened a 9k stack to 450 at 75/150 and I 3-bet/stacked QQ into AA with the big blind sitting out. It was the second time I ran into AA, first time I actually had AA too :(.
I played my bustout hand pretty badly. The button limped and I shoved the sb for 4.7k at the same level. The big blind called with AK vs my A9 and that was that. It was a combination of tilt and just tiredness, but no real excuse. I should have just raised to 700 and folded to any action from the bb. I knew the button had to be extremely weak at that point, and was sure that I'd have raised any two cards there since his limp was not to trap but because he was super afraid of me shoving. I shouldn't have shoved though, since it was effectively shoving 32bbs in ante stage blind-v-blind and not a good idea at all.
I rushed back home then didn't play the Saturday [tournament] at the International. Played online and basically ran super bad. In the Big Shot I lost A7 vs A5 on A 8 6 7 for ~19k in the second level, and then went onto lose eight straight flips in all other tournaments. It was actually getting pretty epic at the end, wasn't actually tilted since they were all pretty standard, before going on a nice heater in my last tournament. However that would never last, my internet disconnects for three orbits and I come back to get flush over flushed the first hand back. /wp me
I played the PSOP [at the International Club] on Sunday, and ran/played basically even worse than ever. It's been a real strange rut I'm in. Anyway I got really lucky to get the nuts in a couple of spots and ended on 33k for the day. Day 2 obviously last about 30 mins. I 3-bet a a UK donkament regular 2 hands in a row, and stacked QQ at 400/800/75 for ~32k into KK.
I've been running bad at swaps too. I had one with a friend in the GUKPT who went into Day 2 with 55k, but lost with AA < QT on T 4 4 5. I might just be cursed, as I sweated him in the WCOOP shootout today. As soon as I opened his table HU in the first SnG, I see T9
Shaun Deeb just flew in today from WPT Cyprus and is staying for a few days. I think we'll be playing WCOOPs this weekend, and then be going to Nottingham for the English Poker Open next week, and then back to London for some WSOPE action. I've started to learn a little about Twitter, with the screenname 'golfpro699'. Follow my progress in my upcoming live tournaments; I'll do my best to be tweeting during breaks.
