Ok, so my scorpion sting has faded (read all about it) and I can now feel my hand. I have run fairly well the last week (and nothing has bitten or stung me!) the pool has just been vacuumed clean, I have sorted out a twice weekly maid service, I have done well in a few online tournaments, and life is generally starting to feel good again.
I swear there is something about Vegas that leads to me earning more money than anywhere else in the world. Last time I was here, I averaged approximately $50,000 per month, and every since I left, I started to run pretty badly. If it is the general climate out here, the friendly people, or the non stop drinking, I am not sure! Bring on the WSOP!
Today we ventured to the Rio (where the WSOP is being held, courtesy of Harrah's), and for the first time in just under a year, I felt butterflies again due to something related to poker. There is something about the grand scale of the WSOP festival that makes me nervous - even walking down the corridors, the likes of Barry Greenstein, Brian Townsend and Vanessa Rousso to name just a few of the names we saw...
Signed up after almost an hour of registration and players card collection later, we hit our rental car back home, where we were having a lovely meal prepared for us by an old friend of mine from Vegas. The rental car for four Poker Professionals, loving the nightlife, and being big time, should have been something like a Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300 etc. (something a little gangsta styleee) but no... in we pop into our hybrid Toyota Prius... How big time!
Bring on the $1,000 Event #4 tomorrow I am feeling great about this crapshoot!!!
