All in all, Vegas went swimmingly for me. After 3 from 4 cashes in WSOP events, I finally busted out of the cash in the Main Event. I ran pretty bad on Day 1, lots of coolers and unlucky spots, and obviously the occasional lost race as normal. I ended up with almost my starting stack on Day 2!
I had played very very well despite feeling under the weather, and it was just the cards that fell, that held my chip stack dwindling amongst the nit's, donkeys and satellite grinders stacks. Day 2 came, and within the first hour I started running good, up to 78k from 28k by making lots of moves, and turning the nuts twice. I thought it could only get better... No.... two flips later, three trip vs higher trips, several setup situations and some good plays being looked up weakly, and I was left in the final hand of my tournament.
Racing home
After speaking to the guy to my left about what you should do in the situation of being semi deep stacked and playing AK out of position, I then woke up with AK suited and was out of position! With 500/1000/100 blinds, I make it 2.5k in early position. This same guy 3-bets me to 7k, I dwell and make it 17k with 26k behind, and he ships all-in to set me in (he has about 120k). I call and clearly my AK suited was never going to win a race vs his QQ... GG and GL...
One complement I took from leaving the table was the admiration of the table, and as consolation he told me he was kind of glad he busted me as I was by far the best player at the table. Whether that was true or not, who knows, but I was definitely the table captain all day, which was nice.
After chilling for a few days I found myself at a loose end. After seeing some of my fellow house mates leave for home, and Craig (kickofff), my lover and husband, heading home on the Friday, I decided to join him and kick it back in good old England.
On arrival on Saturday (after a three hour delay) I went to meet a friend who had some time free before their shift. I was on a detox, had been ever since the night before when I got somewhat smashed on guess what...Jaegermeister in Tryst at the Wynn, and had to look after Craig who seemed to be attracted to the biggest girls I have ever seen. Was very funny, until the bouncer asked me to take him home as he was getting dangerously close to not only throwing up in the pool, but falling in it over the balcony too!
Anyway, I was detoxing until I met her in the pub, and she practically tied me up and put a knife against my throat to force some double vodka red bulls down my neck. Long live the detox! After this, I then decided to go and meet up with fellow Team PKR Pro Ashley Hames, who was somewhere in Islington doing a show, while members of the PKR Staff [who shall remain anonymous] joined in the merriment. After lots of 'no my girlfriend wants me home' [ty James - Danski], and 'I'm not really in the mood tonight James', I got them all shots, and the night was about to start. One session later, involving Jaegermeisters, a camera and two average looking women, more shots, merriment, lots of cigarette smoke, two Italian ladies (and a very impressive Italian-speaking Ashley), we decided to call it a night.
Oh...one more thing, yet again James666 decides its a good idea to drop his trousers (without wearing underwear) in the middle of a nice quiet pub, which is now the second time in two weeks it has happened. Bring back the Detox. Bring back salads and water. And screw it, bring back the Jaegermeister baby!!! Its all about Vegas!
