Biggest pots, CashGame TV and insights from ring game regular Najammq ...

Key pots from the last seven days...

Here are just five of the biggest pots that went down, from big moves to monster coolers. No analysis here - just the bare bones...

Goldeneyehd

Goldeneyehd v Beyne
Pot size: $23,375
Pot of the week went to Goldeneyehd, whose Q-Q held after a T-7-J flop, against the bottom pair/gutshot combo of Beyne's 9-7 suited.

Goldeneyehd

Goldeneyehd v Beyne
Pot size: $22,684
Goldeneyehd came away the winner again in a crucial pot, with A-A v Beyne's Q-T suited on a Q-7-T flop. The two got $9.5K each into the centre on the flop, and a seven on the river paired the board, good for Goldeneyehd's aces.

Beyne

Beyne v Goldeneyehd
Pot size: $17,893
Cooler time, as Beyne wins some back with A-8 to Goldeneyehd's Q-Q on a 8-8-3 flop.

Beyne

Beyne v 1Kevboy
Pot size: $17,446
Beyne flopped the nuts with 6-8d on a 5d-9-7d flop, but had to dodge 1Kevboy's 4d-5d flush draw, which he did courtesy of bricks on turn and river.

golfpro699

Golfpro699 v 1Kevboy
Pot size: $17,139
More coolers, with fireworks on the 7-A-T flop as both players invested $2K, and another $6K each going in on the blank turn. Golfpro699's T-T conquered 1Kevboy's A-Q for a tidy pot.

Cash Game TV

Tuesday nights open a window of opportunity at our Cash Game TV tables, to bedazzle, beguile and bamboozle us with your game. This week, the $25/$50 rolled into town with some of PKR's finest on show.

The phat cats mentioned above were joined by the likes of Tiptop22, DesperadoGM, dappadan777, Pokey85, zlatan35, ElJardi and Albykid for almost four hours of play. Tiptop22 and Pokey85 left with the best figures, while ElJardi found himself on the wrong side of several key pots. Here's one to whet your appetite before the episode is released later in the year...

You can catch the first glimpses of PKR's Cash Game TV on the Poker Channel Europe in the coming weeks, with commentary from Team PKR Pros and the PKR TV team.

Next in the hotseat is PKR veteran PKR cash gamer Najammq, one of the few surviving original cash game players whose consistency and discipline we've always admired!

What's a normal cash game week for you, and how have the last seven days compared?

A normal week lately for me is trying to play 2-3 hours of perfect poker, normally in the mornings. My profit has been consistent for the past few weeks. In terms of games selection, I'll play anyone as long I'm rolled for the game on the site.

What’s your general approach to poker as a source of income? Do you consider yourself a professional poker player?

Yes. Poker has been pretty much my bread and butter for past couple of years. Luckily for me now it's giving me more time and the financial freedom to enjoy myself.

You’ve played against almost every player who has arrived at PKR’s cash tables over the last few years, so you must have seen it all. What’s your take on players like Beyne and Goldeneyehd?

I think Beyne is an exciting player who's improving fast, and I think he has the character and the attitude to make it big. Goldeneyehd is a good technical player.

Are they good for the game, or do you see them as removing your valuable liquidity from the PKR ring game economy?

I think Beyne is very good for the game, he attracts a lot of rail with his exciting style of play. I don't care what other regulars players do - as long I'm playing my A game, I think there will always be value for me.

In your opinion, are all the chat box and forum clashes common at this level of cash game, or something unique to PKR’s cash game community? What is your opinion of the various egos on show? Is it for show, or a true reflection of their real life personas?

I used to be very bad in the chat and mix my emotions with the game, which was obviously a big mistake. Not only did I disgust myself and few people at the tables in the process, but I also lost money because of bringing emotion into my play.

I haven't had much time to check out the forums until now. Recently I started visiting and contributing a little. I found it a very friendly and closely-nit community, unlike any other poker commuity.

I personally don't think ego is a good thing on a poker table as well as in life, but If you don't get carried away with it and you alway play the cards and the players, it gives you a mental edge over your opponents. I think egos on show are defintely real life personas and it reflects the competitive nature of person.
