As a virgin in major tournaments, I went on a plane from Amsterdam to Macau for what happened to be an awesome adventure.
On arrival in the ‘Monte Carlo of the East’ six members of the whole team were already present drinking their ass off - it was fun seeing the people behind the puppets on PKR.
The next day saw more arrivals and the whole team was complete; Waswini, bumbumbum, zlatan35, MATILJA, jogal72, kingkai84, Pokey85, james666,F4llout and myself. We met at the tournament location on the eighth floor of the Starworld hotel. The atmosphere was great with celeb-players walking around and pretty babes all over the place - it was already great without even playing a hand!
On day 1A, PKR players james666, bumbumbum, zlatan35, Pokey85 and kingkai84 sat down at the tables hoping to make their way towards the final table (eventually one of these players did actually make it, but that’s another story). Four of the players on day 1A gave their best but unfortunately didn’t make it through, as we all say on PKR…… UNLUCKY! One of these players james666 made it to the payouts and did very well for himself.
On day 1B the rest of the team took their shot at the big bucks; Waswini, MATILJA, jogal72, F4llout and myself. Unfortunately luck wasn’t on our side and apart from jogal72, we all made an exit earlier than we would have liked (jogal72 made day 2 but didn’t cash). After that some of the team played side-events and MATILJA took a nice victory with him back to Sweden in the Head Hunter Bounty event number #10. When we weren’t playing side-events, some of us played private Sit & Go’s and If I’m not mistaken Pokey85 took most of the money there - he ripped my arms off in the very first hand as we both had a full house, but his was far better!
At day 3 (Final table) some of us played the last side-event number #15. As things progressed it was only myself and PKR_Neil left, but just before the money PKR_Neil bubbled in a sick draw and at almost the same moment zlatan35 took the title in the main event. Neil from what I can remember had TT versus J3. The board came AKA, turn K and river 6 so J-kicker won. Right after that I got into the money but unfortunately got outdrawn by A-3 off, versus my pocket sixes.
As I mentioned earlier, PKR’s zlatan35 turned out to be the best and number one player in the main event and we celebrated long into the night with what I can say is an awesome guy! At some point in the middle of the tournament he got lucky in an all-in situation with QQ versus AA and got saved by a third girl on the river, so I think that was his moment. This guy is not an accident in poker and had this coming to him, but it was sooner than we all thought. Personally I think this is not the last we have heard of him and he has a great future ahead of him. With this victory he made a name for himself and a greater name for PKR. There is just one thing to say about this ‘WELL DONE ZLATAN35’.
Last thing I want to say is a special thanks to PKR_Neil - he took care of us on behalf of PKR and kept us together as a team, the team spirit was there and you could see it and feel it.
