Now the spotlight falls on the long-awaited Leeds Meet Up. Organised by Gary "gaztheyorkie" Bainbridge, there's now just a month to go...
PKR Meet Up - 22/23 August, Leeds
The Leeds Event has been in the planning stage for several months and interest is booming with over 70 PKR players registered.
Taking place on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd August at the Gala Casino in Leeds, there are four planned events;
- 22 Aug, 16:00hrs - £25 No Limit Hold'em (PKR chipset bounty on gaztheyorkie)
- 22 Aug, 22:00hrs - £25 NLHE
- 23 Aug, 13:00hrs - £25 Pot Limit Omaha
- 23 Aug, 20:00hrs - £30 NLHE Main Event (£50 bounty on gaztheyorkie)
PKR will be supplying a range of bonus prizes for the event including PKR hoodies, t-shirts, and other assorted PKR Shop items - not forgetting a PKR chipset on gaztheyorkie's head as an additional bounty.
With a sense of expectation and excitement surrounding the weekend, many players have arranged to meet up on the Friday evening for some alcohol-related fun. See the Leeds Meet Up thread for details.
PKR_Anders has been closely invovled, helping to organise private games and getting prizes together. He's also provided some very special name tags for the event...
The Leeds Event has attracted some of the best known forumites, and with PKR legendary community spirit we can't see how this event won't be great fun. Many attendees have agreed to bring along laptops so expect plenty of updates over the course of the weekend!
Away from the table
Aside from the poker, there are a few additional plans along with some some entertaining side bets throughout the weekend. PWAGs (Poker Wives And Girlfriends) are welcome, and we're sure there will be no shortage of incriminating photos taken and posted in the PKR Forums.
The event will hopefully be running also next year around the same time, so if your unable to make this year keep your diary open for 2010!
