This week’s Saturday Big Shot pulled in a modest 35 runners, but still managed to create a prize pool of $17,500. After almost five and a half hours of play, Frenchman and relative tournament newbie topolino38 emerged victorious, taking home a cool $7,000.
The relative outsider hit the big score in PKR's elite weekly tournament despite a strong field. topolino38 beat two of the biggest names in the game when he sent ShrpFeather and mayotacker to the rail on his way to scooping the huge first place pay day.
Drawing the glare of flashbulbs on the final two tables were other big hitters such as kongbuk, Dospairos and PirateNation. topolino38's win stands out all the more against the quality players he had to beat to earn this title.
Claiming the honour of best-performing final tablist and frustrated 2nd place finisher was ShrpFeather, who has now finished runner up twice along with a further fifth placed finish for a total of over $12,000 in winnings from this one tournament alone! A long awaited and much deserved win must surely be on the cards.
