An elite field of 36 settled down on Saturday evening for another marathon Big Shot. Team PKR Pro Ray "callmebabe" O'Mahoney held the chip lead with 114K of the 360K chips on offer, clear of his nearest opponent dalipz, who sat with 85K.
Half hour bubble
With just five paid, the final six nervously awaited the exit of the bubble boy. Spare a thought then for Zeorbok, who arrived at the final table with a 12k short stack. He moved his last 10k into the middle with QJ, bursting an excruciating bubble when he fell to TheSeed23's A-6. With an impressive PKR record, the deep stack specialist is no doubt headed for Big Shot success...
No smooth sailing for Team PKR Pro callmebabe however, who saw his chip lead reduced in short order, following fellow Irishman and 5th place finisher zzdmg86 out of the door in 4th place for $2,160. That left three Brits to fight it out for the $7,200 first prize. The Welshman departed from the final with pocket eights, the unstoppable chip leader's K-5 suited outrunning the snowmen with a king on the river.
Heads up
KInto heads up play, TheSeed23 enjoyed a 308K to 52 chip lead over Sunday Classic and TV Showdown finalist dalipz, who was unable to overturn such a big disadvantage. WIth 46K remaining, dalipz got the chips in the middle with A6 v TheSeed23's QTs, but a queen on the flop and no ace by the river, concluded another exciting Big Shot final table, one well worth catching when it is released later this month on PKR TV. The victory was only the TheSeed23's second cash and his first MTT win on PKR (having qualified for the $500 event via a $26.50 satellite), a fine way to open his account. Be sure to keep an eye out for the Blackpool resident as his PKR career continues...
