Sunday round up: Clarka wins Aussie Classic & the 'Gent falls just short in the $30K

A round-up of the winners from PKR's Sunday tournament schedule

The usual international hotbed of poker talent filled Sunday's final tables, with firm forum favourites, back-to-back finalists and rankings heros all striving to come out on top...

Aussie Classic $5K GTD - 08:00 GMT

Buy-in: $40
Runners: 145
Champion: Clarka - $1,566

In the 1st strong home side showing in the Aussie Classic for some weeks, four of the last ten came from Oz, with the remainder spread as far afield as Algeria and Belgium. The Melbourne-based winner Clarka bagged only his 2nd win on PKR and his first 4-figure score. Runner-up BIASSO claimed $928 with golyos finishing third.  An aussie with form in the book, superrelish bagged a 2nd Aussie Classic final table, finishing 4th this week having won this event back in March.

Omaha Showdown $4K GTD - 15:30 GMT

Buy-in: $50
Runners: 80
Champion: Lotspotion - $1,120

Current MTT Rankings No.2 flynndig made an appearance at this week's PLO slugfest, with prolific dual-Grand Prix and recent Daily $17K winner ShakeRaise and $50K GTD runner-up Timoshenko also in attendance. Ice-cool Fin Lotspotion emerged the winner, defeating flynndig heads up to claim the title. Previous Omaha Showdown champ gpicasso (14 June 09) again found himself at the final table, this time finishing 3rd.

Sunday Open $20K GTD - 18:00 GMT

Buy-in: $22
Runners: 821
Champion: RUElvis - $4,400

Of the four Brits who avoided the minefield in our largest field major tourno, RUElvis finished 1st with compatriots filling 3rd, 5th and 8th. The winner, one of only three finalists with a PKR tournament win under their belt, also finished 2nd in the PKR Open back in May. Runner-up lindrosstars earned $2,600 for his performance while 3rd placed Bellybirch departed with $1,700.

Sunday $30K GTD - 19:00 GMT

Buy-in: $80
Runners: 327
Champion: STALKERrus - $7,500

Despite five Brits at the final table (including Forum Mod, cad and bounder Chivalrousgent), the Russian STALKERrus came out on top, winning $7,500 to add to an impressive PKR resume which includes a pair of Daily $17K wins. Tonyfarrar, third in last week's Sunday $30K, improved on that effort by one place, finishing second this time for $4,500. Forum legend and PKR Live I Warmup champion Chivalrousgent took home $3,000 for his third place.  In eighth place this week, previous Daily $17K winner scrum added a further solid look to the form.

I believe "cad and bounder" to be inaccurate and libellous, Mr. Grant.

My lawyer will be in touch this afternoon.

Hush-money in the way of a year's supply of bigshot tickets could end this matter before it worsens ...
