One of only two players at the final table with a previous tournament win on PKR, PatIvey (no relation, I am reliably told) prevailed over a class field of 487 runners on Saturday evening, to claim the latest PKR Masters title and a whopping $29,220 payout. He posted his biggest win almost exactly a year to the day after he joined PKR, having cashed in 21 tournaments with a PKR Open win worth $2,539 his previous best result. The win vaults PatIvey into the Top 100 on the All Time Money List with $38,440 in winnings.
Defeated runner-up Stickyhmfc, who entered heads up play with a 1mill-to-1.4mill chip deficit, fell to PatIvey's A-7, his 8-8 failing to hold after moving in preflop. The runner-up, playing in his 4th ever PKR tournament, claimed $17K for his 1st cash!
Crowd favourite to win with three left, Brit Danaki22 departed when his 8-3s failed to spike a flush against PatIvey's K-Q, the Swede's flopped top pair good enough to bust Danaki22 in 3rd place for just shy of $11K. Danaki22 entered the final table with by far the most experience in PKR tournaments, his 24 victories from 93 final tables eclipsing his opponents' corresponding stats. His previous form included wins in the Grand Prix, Xmas Cracker and Omaha Showdown, with a $3.8K Sunday Classic 2nd place his previous biggest cash.
Of the remaining finalists, only lefka1owned a significant MTT cash, a runner-up finish in a Primetime #4 for $2,269 the standout result on his resume.
Other notables to go deep were kickofff (11th), who added to previous 4th and 15th place Masters finishes, and bastou30 (16th), winner of the May Masters and 11th placed in the same July event.
