Poker Pack star Nam Le has won the fifth heat of the Poker Million VIII, booking his place in the semi finals of one of TV’s most lucrative tournaments.
Wearing PKR branding for this event, Nam’s success follows hot on the heels of fellow Poker Pack member JC Tran’s success in the Premier League earlier this year. Given that JC was also sponsored by PKR for that tournament, it would appear as though the famous black and blue is becoming something of a lucky charm for the Pack.
Nam secured his place in the semis when he beat Portuguese star Joao Barbosa heads up. The final hand featured a short stacked Barbosa moving all in with 9s8h only to be called by Nam holding Ac5c. A dream 3-A-5 flop left Barbosa drawing extremely thin and the end duly came with a K-4 on the turn and river.
Nam joins Annette Obrestad, John Duthie, Tony Bloom, Paul Zimbler, Juha Helppi in the semis (with a further six heats to be played). We wish him the best of luck.
Nam Le is an ambassodor for the Asian Poker Tour (APT) and is confirmed to play the upcoming Macau leg. If you'd like the chance to play him in Macau, don't miss tonight's APT qualifier!
