Our recent activities have been rather exciting (if we may say so ourselves) and unsurprisingly have caused a lot of publishers to look up and take note of what we’re doing, where we’re going and who’s coming with us.
The formation of Team PKR Pro, a brand new website and our Vegas adventures during the World Series of Poker have led to lots of editorial coverage of the world’s coolest poker brand. And while PKR’s natural habitat is the virtual world, that hasn’t stopped us from garnering a growing stream of print articles and features.
With the WSOP approaching, Bluff magazine’s June issue featured a six-page preview of the Series complete with interviews of Team PKR Pro members and a poker player’s essential guide to Vegas. Our exclusive World Series TV coverage was also given a page to itself; highlighting full details of the deal which saw us become the exclusive non-US sponsor of the World Series of Poker site as well as showing 24 bracelet events live on the web.
Not only that but we made the front cover (yes that’s right – the front cover) of Online Poker Pro for July. Despite being covered in the May issue, the guys over at Poker Pro Media saw fit to dedicate the front plus an additional four-pages to our recently formed Pro Team. In fact, the entire magazine is peppered with pieces on PKR from front-to-back, from the exclusive WSOP footage deal to a final take on our unique Road to Vegas promotion, which ran from September last year until just prior to the World Series kicked off.
Talking of Vegas, our wild playboy party at the Hugh Hefner Sky Villa at the Palms also turned a few heads. In fact, the bunny and champagne-fuelled night even managed to find its way into the Las Vegas Sun and Las Vegas Weekly!
And there’s more still. After our two latest major milestones – the launch of Team PKR Pro and the release of version 1.9 – we’ve seen a steady increase in the quantity and quality of editorial both online and in print. On top of being flooded with online news alerts on a daily basis, bits and pieces are now being picked up in a wide range of magazines from across the globe. From Card Player Bulgaria, Card Player Brasil and Card Player Spain, to Player Ireland and France’s City Poker, it seems that everyone is being given the chance to keep up to date with all the latest happenings at PKR.
