PKR Live III: Making the final table (Part 4: Pokey85)

Danski: Henrik, you finished second at the very first PKR Live Main Event. Tell us how you played day one, and reached the final table.

Henrik: Day one at PKR Live I was great! I didn't get involved in any flips, I played solid poker and build up my stack throughout the whole day. I remember one sick hand where I had K-K, where the dealer misdealt. I was so angry, but the guy to my left had A-A! That was nice... I also remember that when we reached the bubble, I had the big stack on my table and raised every hand, scooping all the blinds because no one at my table would play a hand. I think I entered day two with a top five stack.

D: At the final table, you went up against Team PKR Pro callmebabe (who was playing aggressively with a huge stack). What was your game plan?

H: He raised and 3-bet every single hand so the best thing to do was wait for the right cards, because he wasn't going to lay anything down. That was what actually happend, but callmebabe didn't stack off to me, the other guy [eventual winner escalope] did instead!

D: How did you get on at PKR Live II’s Main Event in April this year?

H: This year's event was really bad for me. I didn't get a single hand and didn't hit one flop. I don't remember the last hand exactly but I think it was J-J against A-K, something like that.

D: You've played a lot of poker since PKR Live I. How has your game got better, and what do you think of your chances at PKR Live III?

H: I've learn a lot about live poker this year. I've tried a lot of different game styles and also a lot different events, like the WSOP and WSOPE. I think I've got a good chance this year and hope to reach the final table and not lose heads-up again (I lost to 7-2 on the final hand in PKR Live I)!

D: Give us a couple of tips for those players who may have never played a live event, let alone a two-day $1K buy-in live event, before…

H: My best advice would be to play in position and take it easy in the beginning.  Don't put your entire stack on a coin flip - find the right spot to double up.

D: What is your favourite thing about PKR Live in general?

H: Wow, that's hard. There are so many good things about this event. It's nice to meet all players and put a face to a username. The organisation is always so good, as are the people who work for PKR.
