PKR_Erika: Hey Jason! It was great to hang out with you in Vegas and thanks for chatting with us! Speaking of Vegas, what made you decide to go over there?
Piratenation: I had a lot of friends already going and the PKR Party pretty much sold it to me. It was a fairly late decision but definitely the right one!
E: Did you play in the World Series?
P: No, no events this year. The ones I was looking at didn’t have the best structure and there were plenty of other places to play. I did particular well at the Wynn and Caesar’s Palace tournaments.
E: Did you meet any of the big pros? Who was the person you would have most liked to sit down and have a chat with?
P: I met a lot of pro's and it’s good to see how down to earth everyone is. I had a chat with John Juanda but not about poker! We even went to club XS at the Encore with the Devilfish. (Editor’s Note: LOL - Not sure turning up at the same time constitutes going out with…)
E: Who do you think is the best player in the world? And who's the most overrated?
P: Gotta be Ivey, the guy was born to play poker. I really hope he does well. It’s hard to say who is overrated because everyone has won something at some point. I think the game has changed and some of the old charge are struggling a bit with the new-school aggression.
E: What did you think of the PKR Party at the Hugh Hefner Suite?
P: Amazing, I stand by what I said in the
video - make sure everyone goes next year!
E: What advice would to give to anyone thinking of going to the WSOP next year?
P: I think bankroll management is even more important out there because there are so many things in Vegas that just suck your wallet dry. That was a lesson learnt this year!
E: What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! So back to basics, when did you start playing poker?
P: I started playing while at university. I remember playing with matchsticks and the loser had to do the washing up! I then started playing for money in my local pub.
E: How long have you been playing at PKR?
P: I think 2 years.
E: Do you consider yourself a cash game or tournament player?
P: Mainly tournament. It’s where I have found the most success.
E: What stakes do you play at?
P: I play usually the largest. The big tournaments.
E: What’s your best personal poker moment?
P: Becoming chip leader at Manchester GUKPT halfway through day 2 or going to APT Macau last year. It’s a toss-up between the two.
E: Who are some of your favourite PKR players?
P: Too many to name... Discomonkey, Pokey85, Tigerwing, Thesqueeze, Kingand77, Soosick. We are all friends in real life so it’s easy to nominate them.
E: Which PKR players would you say are the toughest to play against?
P: All of the above.
E: What is your ‘day job’?
P: This has been my day job for 9 months. It has been a load of fun and I’m glad I did it. However I am going back to work and keep poker as a hobby.
E: What do you do to chill out when you’re not playing poker?
P: I love travelling, snowboarding, socialising and meeting new people. Through poker I now have friends all over the world.
E: What are your poker goals for the next 12 months?
P: Win a big live event. I came pretty close to doing really well at the last GUKPT but I made a mistake at a crucial time so I hope to learn from this and go one step further.
E: We know you like the poker ladies. Anything to say to the gals out there?
P: I find a girl who can play poker incredibly attractive!
E: Is there anything else you want to tell people about you, Vegas, poker, or life in general?
P: Big up the community! GL everyone!
E: Thanks for that, Jason! Best of luck at the tables!
