Today was my first day playing the $10,000 WSOP Main Event. Here's how it went...

Level One - 50/100

I didn’t get any hands the first two hours, and tried to make some moves. The standard at the table was bad, most of the players only played good hands and never raised in position. I had 27K (from a starting stack of 30K) after the two first hours.

Level Two - 100/200

After the break it started well. I got pocket three's and bet out 450, and two guys called. The flop came 7 7 5. I bet out 800 and one guy called. The turn was a three. Then I bet out 1,600 and the guy min-raised me to 3,200. I flat called, as there was a flush draw on the board (should a raise him here?). Turn was a four, he checked me and I bet out 5,000 and he called me with Q 7. I got some other good hands and was up to 38K by the second break.

Level Three - 150/300

At the beginning of this level I had AT on the button and raised to 800. The small blind called me (this guy was SOOO bad)... Flop came T T 8. Sweet. I bet out 1,400 and the guy flat called me. Turn was a four, and I bet out 2,400 and the guy raised me to 5K. The guy had 8K behind so I pushed all in and he called me. He had 88! NOOOOOOOOOOO! After this 40K pot my stack was down to 22K. After this hand I lost a pot against a guy who hit his gut shot on the river... SOOO SICK. I had 12,500 left after that 16K pot. Then came the dinner break. I had dinner with James (666) and Karl (discomonkey) - they both had a good stack, 50K and 70K.

Level Four - 150/300 25 ante

On the last hand of this level, the first guy bet out 750 and the guy after him raised to 2,150. I look down at my cards and saw AK. I had only 12,500 left so pushed all in and one guy called me - he had JJ. I have not won a coin flip here in Vegas but this time I hit the K on the flop :) So I went into the break with 25K, back on track.

Level Five - 200/400 50 ante

This was the last level for the day. After 15 minutes one of the guys in late position raised up to 1K and, on the big blind I looked down to my cards to see AA. I raised to 3,200 and the guy flat called. The flop came Q T 2. I bet out 6K at this pot and the guy pushed ALL IN! I called him and he showed KQ. The turn came a jack to give him an open-ended straight draw, but the river was a seven and I was now up to 50K. I completed the day with 49K. I’m happy with that after the cooler with AT in the 40k pot. I play Day Two on Wednesday.

Goodnight all!
