Day Two
There were a lot good players on my table, probably one of the toughest tables I've ever played at. On my right I had one of [Tom Dwan] durrrr's best friends, a $100/200 NL cash player, and some pros from Pokerstars and Full Tilt. I played solid poker but didn’t get a hand the first two hours.
Before the first break I picked up AA in early position and raised 2.5 bb's. The big blind flat called, and the flop came 6 8 9 cc, not the perfect flop for aces. He bet out 2,200 which I flat called, and the turn brought another 8. He then bet out 3,800. I didn’t put him on the 8, maybe the flush draw that came on turn. I raised him to 15,500 and he thought for four minutes before flatcalling me. I also had the nut flush draw. The river was the Kh, and he insta-checked. It was a good pot so I couldn’t check here, taking the chance that he'd slow played something, and I bet out 10,000. He insta-folded, and I was up to 70,000.
Then I was up and down for the last three levels and finished Day Two on 63,800. The average after Day Two was 110,000 but the blinds at the start of Day Three were only 600/1,200, and so I had 50 bets.
Day Three
The first table on Day 3was so easy. I took down all hands I played and had a stack of 85,000 after 40 minutes. They then broke the table...
The second table was full of big stacks and good players, but I got a good start here. I picked up AJ suited early on, and raised to 3.5 bbs (because of the big stacks on the table). The small blind called me and the flop come Q 8 8 dd. I bet out 6,000 and the small blind called me. The turn was a blank 4s. What can he have flat-called me here? I think he would have raised me with the Q or the 8, and so I put him on the flush draw, with maybe the gutshot. So I bet out 12,500 on the turn and he folded. I now had a stack of 100,000 =).
I had one Asian guy at the table who raised a lot of hands. I picked up pocked eights, he raised to 4,500 and I thought for a couple of seconds and raised him to 11,500. He then said to me, “This is your chance boy” and raised me 25,000 more. I can’t do anything here. He then said, "Think you tried to do a move on me" and showed an A.
The end: Busted flushes and coolers
Then a couple of hands later I picked up K7cc in good position and raised up to 4,000 with the blinds at 800/1,600 and the big blind called. The flop came T 6 2 cc, so I had the flush draw and bet out 7,000. He then raised me to 25, 000. What should I do here? I had 70,000 behind and if I called here I'd be down to 50,000, if no club hit the turn. Because he had a huge stack, I called him and I know that if I hit the flush on turn, I’ll double up to 150,000. The turn was a blank 2 and he pushed all in. I mucked and he showed JJ.
On my last hand, I looked down and saw AT on the button and raised to 5,500 with blinds at 1,000/2,000. The flop came A 8 6 and the small blind bet out 15,000 into a 20,000 pot. I thought for a second and flat-called, and pushed all-in on the turn. He called with AJ and I was out of the Main Event, with 1,300 players left.
It have not be my time here in Vegas - I ran sooo bad in all events and at the cash tables. These four weeks here in Vegas with all the PKR players have been amazing. I'd also like to thank PKR for this chance and experience.
This is my last day here in Vegas, so it's back to playing on PKR. I hope I'll meet a lot of new players at the APT Macau in August.
Take care all!
