Thanks for taking part - so, how long have you been at PKR?
Just over two years now.
What's your job title?
Marketing Executive, although I started as a Client Payments Exec and did that role for about 7 months.
OK then, but what do you really do all day?
Sit at my terminal, watch youtube, go on Facebook, send emails…But all for marketing purposes of course! Actually, I do some PR related work, involving our news distribution and media monitoring. I keep PKR TV looking fresh and new and help the shop run (not so) smoothly. I have a hand in our external events planning and also volunteer the jobs that no-one else in the team can be bothered with. In a nutshell a Jack of all trades, master of none.
What do you like most about your job?
I really like the people I work with and the environment in the office. I especially like the interaction we have with our players who are some of the friendliest people I’ve come across.
So do you play much poker yourself and how good are you?
I don’t play nearly as much as I should, considering where I’d like to be in a year or so. Saying that, I’m on a road of discovery and am pretty certain I’ll be a very good player one day. (Just not quite there yet)
Who is the toughest PKR player you have come up against?
Hmmmm. Tough question. I’d have to say the toughest single session I can remember involving a PKR personality has to be the one against ManOnFire at PKR Live II. To be honest I let him intimidate me a bit at the start of our HU clash and from then on felt as small in the game as I am to him in the flesh! If you’re reading this ManOnFire, revenge WILL be served @ PKR Live III. /bringiton
As someone who administers much of what goes into the PKR Shop, what’s currently hot?
We’re looking to make some serious improvements to the electronics offering – watch this space…. But from the current stock I personally like the new USB keys. They’ve got a pretty cool design, and hold 4GB of disk space. That’s like, almost a portable hard drive, dude.
With the WSOP Main Event FT looming – who will win?
Difficult to say, though I’d prefer it if we didn’t have two Shulmans wining both WSOP’s this year. I think it’d be better to see poker’s Tiger Woods bring it home. Especially as Hold’ em isn’t even his strongest game…
Tell us away from PKR Towers how you like to unwind?
I like all things sport - I play and watch whenever possible. I’m also an avid follower of film and I do love my gadgets… But Most of all I’m a bit of a sad star-gazer. Not the worthless celebrity kind – I just love astronomy and (not too complicated) physics, and am a big fan of all things metaphysical too, especially debating about it. (Ed. Anders has also recently started a self-imposed lifetime alcohol ban, with many sceptics doubting if this will last longer than a couple of weeks).
Tell us something not a lot of people know about you...
I’m torn between wanting everything and wanting nothing. And one of these days I will flip a coin to decide whether or not to go and live in the Himalayas, as a monk.
Lastly if you could have one superpower what would it be?
X-Ray vision.... Need I say more?
