How long have you been at PKR?
Three and a half years now and it's been a great journey.
What's your job title?
Campaign manager
OK then, but what do you really do all day?
Loads ;-) Basically my job is to encourage new players to try out all that PKR has to offer, keep active players interested and to persuade any lapsed players to come back. I work with the Cardroom team to come up with new promotions, then liaise with our Copywriters to get the material we need and finally deliver these to our players through a variety of in-game messages and emails.
What do you like most about your job?
Without wanting to make you feel sick I really enjoy all aspects of my job. There's quite a bit of data analysis required some days, trying to work out which players will be interested in which promotions. There's also room for creativity with promotions, and trying to work out the best way to deliver our ideas. All in all it's a very varied role that brings me into contact with lots of different parts of the team at PKR towers.
What keeps you up at night?
I'd like to say a beautiful gymnast but that sadly wouldn't be true. I tend not to let things get to me so I generally get a good night's sleep.
As one of only a handful of human beings to be present at an English Ashes victory, can you tell us what it was like?
My memories are slightly hazy but as you'd expect it was an amazing day. I've actually only been to two days of test cricket in my life and both were the days when we brought the Ashes home.
I'm toying with the idea of approaching the ECB to see if they'll pay for me to go to Australia in 2010 as their official mascot.
If you could have one super-power that you could only use at work, what would it be?
I'm not asking for too much, I'd just like the ability to inflict silence upon others (sitting next to Jabba and Danski can sometimes be somewhat of a challenge).
What do you do to relax after a long day of keeping PKR campaigns on track?
I like a nice balance of health and fun. I'm a bit of a sports nut and regularly play squash, tennis, football and golf. Then it's off to the pub to undo all the good work!
