Thanks for taking part - so, how long have you been at PKR?
I have been employed at PKR for three and a half years now. I first joined the company as a customer service representative alongside the likes of Danski and Jabba.
What's your job title?
I am now the VIP Manager at PKR, which I must say is working out really well for me.
OK then, but what do you really do all day?
My job largely revolves around building relationships with our most regular players, this includes introducing myself to every player that reaches Platinum level within Club PKR and assisting these player’s with their day to day queries.
What do you like most about your job?
The easy answer here would be to say the VIP events, I mean who wouldn’t enjoy having to accompany VIP’s to the Champions League Final, however, if I am honest, the thing I like most about my role is meeting so many new people, especially hearing all of the varied views towards different aspects of the game from so many regular winning players.
So what’s the best VIP event you have arranged then?
Well as a football fan, nothing beats the Champions League, it’s just a shame I didn’t get to watch Arsenal play in it. Other than that the sniper rifle training was a real good laugh and the PKR Party at the Palms for this years WSOP has to be one of the best I have ever been too.
So do you play much poker yourself and how good are you?
You would think that constantly being around so many good/great poker players would lead to me picking up a thing or two about the game. However, due to the masses of work I do here at PKR I struggle to find enough time to play myself and tend to only ever play the odd MTT. I would say that on a good day I am a pretty decent player, the issue with this is that lately good days seem to be few and far between.
Who is the toughest player you have come up against? Both staff and PKR player?
There has always been a lot of banter flying around our offices in regards to who is actually the best poker player within PKR, I will just say that if I could choose a player not to be sat at my table, it would definitely be Scott aka ‘PKR_Scott’. I have a lot of respect for his game, even if this is the first time that I have admitted it. Yes Scott you read it correctly!
As far as PKR players are concerned, it is very hard to say who the toughest player is as I do not actually get to play with as many of them as I’d like, so I think I’ll dodge this one to keep all of my VIP’s happy.
Who will win the WSOP Main Event?
I would very much like to see Ivey win the main event, especially as I’ve got him at 13/2.
Tell us away from PKR Towers how you like to unwind?
Anyone that knows me will tell you that I like to have a good time, my main interests are travelling, socialising with friends, spending too much time and money in bars and nightclubs. But above all of that my biggest passion is watching the mighty Arsenal in action.
Tell us something not a lot of people know about you...
I am a pretty open person, if there is something that people do not know about me then there is undoubtedly a very a good reason for this, so it’s probably best to keep it that way!
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
I would have to say the ability to pause time, if you were able to make everyone and everything come to a standstill you could practically do what you wanted - a very easy way to rule the roost!
