How long have you been at PKR?
I joined a couple of months before it launched, so just over 3 years now.
What’s your job title?
Manager of Payment Operations
OK then, but what do you really do all day?
I look after the team who deal with player's queries regarding the financial side of their accounts, the processing of transactions and the verification of the accounts. So it’s my job to help make things run smoothly and look out for any problems relating to payment methods, especially when new ones are introduced like PayPal in the most recent game update.
Who is your favourite TV detective and why?
That’s a great question as I love the 3 CSI brands. It would come down to a choice between Gil Grissom, Horatio Caine and Mac Taylor - all of whom have slightly different characteristics. I will go with Horatio Caine as he shows great loyalty to his team, cares for the well-being of the victims family and comes up with some great one-liners while putting on those shades!
What do you like most about your job?
The satisfaction of getting a really difficult issue regarding a players money resolved for them or spotting a problem with deposits/withdrawals relating to our site or our payment partners and ensuring it has a minimum impact on our service.
What keeps you up at night?
At the moment, its thinking about all the things I need to book and get arranged for my wedding next year. Until you’re the one getting married you don’t quite realise the fine details that go into getting the day to run smoothly.
If you could have one super-power that you could only use at work, what would it be?
The ability to clone myself using a Duplicator with ethicator enhancement like the one in the comic strip 'Calvin and Hobbes'. It would then leave me free to have some fun while my doubles get on with doing my work!
We all know from the wails of pain that emanate from your corner of the office at the end of every football season that you’re a big Derby County fan. What are your other passions in life?
Hopefully they will bring more of the joy this season! Sport and poker are two things that really get me going. I enjoy a round of golf (though I don’t profess to be any good at it) and I’m involved in the 5 a side team we have at work. I enjoy playing poker at my local card room where I used to work or with my mates and we’ve even created our own little league.
